The next day...

Isabelle was a bit nervous as she dialed his number. It had been a while since she'd talked to Magnus. Him and Alec had gone to Romania to investigate some rogue vampires alongside Maryse, and other shadow hunters.

Isabelle was invited to investigate as well, but had stayed. Simon was getting better. That's what matters. Magnus picked up on the third ring.

"Hello? Isabelle?" Magnus asked.

"Yeah, it's me." Isabelle replied.

"I've been wondering when I'd hear from you again. How are you?" Magnus said a bit cheerfully.

"Simon's fine. He's remembering a bit more everyday. It's very impressive. Clary and Jace have gone to Idris. Luke and Jocelyn have been running the Institute. Things are okay." Isabelle answered sadly.

"You didn't answer my question. Are YOU okay?" Isabelle hesitated to answer.

She was never one to express her emotions. She'd always thought that that was what had made her strong. But talking to Magnus seems to be as easy as breathing these days. HER Simon, was also his friend, and the person who now faces this curse, so that they would all be alive.

Tear after tear started to fall down her cheeks. Then she started to weep. Magnus must have heard her cries, because he suddenly broke the silence.

"Look Isabelle. I know exactly what you need right now. Okay? Now follow my instructions. Alright?"

"What do I have to do?" Isabelle weeped.

"First of all, tell me where you are."

"I'm... I'm sitting on the institute steps."

"Good. Now stay there, and hold your cell phone out in mid-air, screen up." Isabelle did so, but the tears wouldn't stop, Even breathing was becoming unbearable.

Next she heard voices, and realized that they were coming from the phone. Next thing she knew, a white smoke started to appear, and drain out of the phone. The smoke fell to the ground, and started to take the form of a man. Then the smoke faded, and there stood Magnus.

"How... How did you do that?" Isabelle said without a breath.

"A spell. I learned it from a close friend once." Magnus said. Obviously trying to fake a smile. Then he continued.

"Come here." Magnus spoke sadly. His arms out wide, waiting to comfort her. Isabelle immediately got up from the steps, and ran to Magnus. She threw herself into his arms, as her weeping became louder, and the tears became heavier. Isabelle had never been one to cry. Magnus simply hugged her, and patted her back gently.

"I don't know what to do Magnus. I need him. I need him back. I... I can't live without him." Isabelle sobbed. Partly a whisper.

"Come on. Lets get inside the institute."
