Percy, Grover and Annabeth knew they needed to move fast. Lotus Casino employees had been tailing them for several minutes. Percy and his friends had taken a detour around the vintage arcade game room and had been able to ditch the bellhops following them, but they knew a new group of employees would quickly take their place.

Despite breaking the spell on his friends and making them realize they'd walked into a trap, they still seemed to be fascinated by the casino's twinkling lights and abundance of slot machines.

"Just one time, Percy, ple-eee-ease!" Grover bleated.

Percy turned to look at his friend. "I'm sorry, bro. But we gotta get out of he-"

Something small and shaggy had just rammed into Percy's chest. Upon closer inspection Percy realized the small and shaggy thing was indeed a child. The boy was pale, almost in a sickly way, like he hadn't been outside in years. His dark eyes were barely visible through the mass of black hair shrouding his forehead.

His clothes were dated, to say the least. Cotton trousers and a button down shirt. He almost looked as if he'd come from a different decade.

"Oh, I'm sorry, mister, other mister, and miss. Hey, have you seen my sister? I'm looking for her. She said she'd play Mythomagic with me today. You see, I got the updated card set. I'm so excited, I've heard people say that Zeus has an additional TEN attack power. Crazy, right? Bianca doesn't stand a chance. Not unless she-"

Percy, his hands still on his friends, pushed past the boy. "I'm really sorry, but we have to leave."

The boy nodded. His dark eyes met Percy's, and a chill went down his spine. "But why? Nobody ever leaves..."
