Keith's POV
So as we are shooting down the drones I felt as though something wasn't right, I don't know what it is, but something does not feel right about this battle. It's not like it's easy because it's not but something just feel wrong. It doesn't help the fact that I still have that amazing smell from training stuck in my mind, it was so perfect and I could have sworn it came from Lance but that can't be right because it's Lance, cocky alpha Lance, he IS an alpha.....right?
"Watch where your going Keith" Pidge yelled knocking me back into reality.
"Yeah, sorry" I reply.
I was so in my head I hadn't noticed I almost crashed into Pidge. Looks like I'm not the only one zoning out because Lance was all over the place, I was about to say something to him when Allura cut me off.
Lance POV
"Lance!! Get your head in the game this is not a joke, you can't mess around!!!" Allura screeches to me clearly annoyed, but I can't help it my mind won't focus at all.
'Nest!! NEST NOW!! NEESSTT!!!' Argh, shut up stupid instincts I can't I'm in the middle of a battle I can't.
'Must nest now, need security, NEST!!' This is just perfect now I have a headache. Last I remembered pre-heat wasn't this painful, though what would I know I haven't had one since I was 14 years old.
I hear a yell and next thing I know Blue rams head first into Black...Great.
"Lance! Pay attention, if your not carful your gonna cost us the battle" Shiro states disappointed and angry that I can't do anything right. By now I'm on the brink of crying; my body aches, my head hurts, I'm sweating and I'm stuffing everything up.
———— Tiny little time break ————
The battle has been going for an hour now and I'm staring to loose it, my body is shaking and my vision is blurry. Everybody I yelling at me telling to stop screwing up, to focus, act serious, to be a 'paladin'.
I just want to go to bed, I'm so tired, I want to curl up in a ball and shut the universe away.... I want an Alpha.
With the thought everything faded to black and I did not resist.
