Chapter 14

Hayes's POV

I woke up and looked at the time. It was ten o'clock.

"Nash! Wake up! We're late!" I yelled through the wall.

I got up, put on clean clothes, grabbed my phone and backpack, and went to Nash's bedroom.

"Nash? Wake up." I shook Nash.

"Alright dude, chill." Nash got out of bed.

I went downstairs and went to the kitchen to wait for Nash.

"Okay bro, let's go." He said as he grabbed his keys and we headed out the door.

It should almost be second period.

We made it to school, we got a late pass, and we headed our separate ways to our lockers.

I grabbed my math things and headed to the class.

"Hello Mr. Grier. Care to explain why you're late?" Our teacher, Mr. Natt said.

"I overslept." I said.

"Sit down." Mr. Natt said as he pointed to my seat.

I sat down.

"Juliet, please explain what we are doing to Hayes." Mr. Natt said.

Juliet didn't look at me.

"So basically, we're just doing pages 57 and 58-"

I lifted her chin.

"Juliet, I'm sorry. Please look at me." I said.

"It's okay." She said, staring at the ground.

"No it's not. There shouldn't be any pressure in your decision-"

"Hayes, talking to me about it adds even more pressure. Okay? I thought it was going to be easy but it's not." She said as she finally stared at me.

"Okay. I'll shut up." I laughed.

"Thanks. For everything." She smiled.

"Why does that sound bad?" I asked.

"It's not. It's just....I don't know....I just wanted to thank you." She said.

"Okay."

"So basically, we're just doing page 57 and 58. But first you have to read the lesson in the book." She said as she turned around.

This day was going to go so well.

Juliet's POV

I couldn't tell Hayes.

I couldn't even look at him.

I went to photography, the only class without him. I sat next to Nash and Cameron.

"So, did you decide yet?" Cameron asked.

"I swear if someone asks me that one more time I'm going to explode. Okay?" I yelled.

"Alright! Alright!" Nash held his hand up in defeat.

"What do you guys think I should do?" I asked.

"I think you should pick Hayes." Nash said.

Cameron smacked him.

"Dude! No. Okay, look in your head. Who do you see yourself with?" Cam asked.

I closed my eyes. I knew exactly who I should be with.

"Cam, thank you so much." I hugged him.
