Chapter 14: Happy Birthday, Greenie!

"Get changed into that, then you can continue your hunt." said Minho, closing the door.

You get changed into a crop top, a native skirt, and a head band that had feathers on it (pic below)

You were kind of unsure about the top because it showed your stomach, but you shook it off and came out. The boys wolf-whistled at you and you just rolled your eyes at them.

"Now you look like a real princess." said Alby, giving you a hug. "Thanks guys. You are the best."

Then you look at the list again

Your eyes brighten and immediately head to the forest. You find Newt by the tree with your guitar!

"I don't believe this." you say in disbelief. "I'm really sorry I did this to you, Y/M. I just didn't want to ruin the surprise. I'm sorry I hurt you." Newt said looking a bit ashamed. "No Newt, it's okay. At least I understand now. Sure I wasn't exactly happy when I thought everyone forgot because forgetting seems like a big thing in the Glade."
"I know, love. But in our minds we thought that if we made you seem like we forgot, the more big the surprise would be when it came to it."

You smiled at him and wanted to run to him and hug him so bad. But, all you could do was have a goofy smile on your face. "Guys." Newt signaled and Gally, Minho, Winston, Alby, and Frypan went by his side and he started playing the guitar.

His guitar playing, to your surprise was beautiful and his hand movements from chord to chord was perfect.

  Gally, Minho, Winston, Alby, and Frypan were doing back-up vocals.

Cheers all around the forest and without hesitation you run up and hug Newt tightly. "Thank you, Newt. Thank you." is all you say. "Anything for you, love. Remember, you are amazing just the way you are." you pull away from the hug, wiping off your tears. Newt helped you do so, which soothed you.

"I didn't know you could play." you tell him with a giggle, "Trust me, love. I didn't think I knew wither until I actually tried."
You chuckled. "How did you come up with the song?"
"My heart knew what it had to say to you." Newt replied. He kissed you on the lips, causing groans of disgust from the gladers. He then handed the guitar to Frypan and picked you up bridal style to the glade, the others following in cheers.

Frypan passed the guitar to Alby and led everyone to his kitchen where he had his special stew and a chocolate cake made from scratch.

You all stuffed your faces and drank Gally's recipe. You got a little drunk, but you tried hard not to show it.

The rest of the night was filled with dancing and laughter, until Alby had to ruin it, saying that it was wayyy past curfew.

Everyone said their last congrats to you and Newt walked you to your hut, hand in hand. "I'm sad this is over." you say as you face him. "I know me too." Newt said cupping his hands over your cheeks. "The end of today marks how closer tomorrow is and you know how much I dread it." you dropped your head as tears started to burn your corneas. "Hey." Newt soothed as he picked your chin up with his thumb and index finger. "It'll be alright. I will be with you the entire time." 
You looked straight into his chocolate brown eyes while he looked into your E/C ones. He then leaned in to the kiss again, but made it deeper. You granted him entrance and he explored your mouth, and your tongues did a little dance.

You stopped for air after about thirty seconds. "I hate to say it, but goodnight, love." Newt said pulling you closer to his chest. You dug your face in his sweatshirt and sniffled a quiet sob.

Once the both of you broke the hug, he planted you a good night kiss on your head, then limped away.

You went into your hut and changed into more comfortable clothes and went to sleep, dreading what may come tomorrow.
