Two years later, here she was, miles away from home. She tried to stay there with her family, but couldn't stay there any longer. Not after her mate had marked Shelby as his mate.

Nobody ever knew what happened in that room that day except the three of them. Shelby never failed to smirk her way or kiss Liam in front of Nitara. The pain was decreasing with the time but it returned full force when she felt him mark someone else.

And then the next day, she saw Shelby with a mark on her neck.

Her mark.

That should have been on her neck. It was her mate's mark. It physically pained her to see another she-wolf with that mark.

It broke her finally. That night she cried her eyes out.

Liam did come to her after rejecting her later that night. She hoped that he would have realised that what he did was wrong and would take her back.

But no such thing happened.

"Hey! I was a little busy before. I shouldn't have just dismissed you like that earlier."

Hope blossomed in her heart. She gave him a coy smile to continue and he did exactly that, breaking her heart all over again.

"See I am a pack warrior and you.."

He looked her up and down, "you are just not anything like I was hoping my mate will be. I wanted someone like Shelby, someone who knows how to dress and carry her with class, not a teenage girl wearing baggy clothes, who can't walk in a straight line. I hope you understand."

Nitara just closed her eyes took deep breaths to calm herself. Then looked at him and said, "Yeah! I do, don't worry your head about it. I Nitara Aryana accept your rejection."

Liam would never accept it but he felt his heart breaking too.

It was first and last time he spoke to her.

She endured everything. Her family ever so supportive never asked questions just supported her through it. Hudson and Oliver always joking around making her laugh till her stomach hurts, Ethna making her favourite food, Alpha David taking her out for runs whenever she felt lonely.

They thought it was because she was missing her mom and dad. She never told them about finding her mate. She knew her family would be angry.

When she was same for the two years, Alpha David couldn't take this sadness anymore when he heard his daughter cry in her room that night he decided he had to do something to help her.

So he suggested that she needed a change of scenery to his luna and she agreed. They both later asked her if she wanted to go somewhere else. Nitara took the opportunity. She loved her adoptive family a lot, but the pain of seeing Shelby sporting mark of her mate, that should have been hers, was all too much.

So she agreed with Alpha.

And here she was a month later, in the pack house of Reed Pack.
