Emily's POV

"Ok we have the show jumping tomorrow, make sure the horses get lots of rest," Will said. We were putting the horses away. I gave Dream an apple.

"Get lots of rest girl, you have your first competition tomorrow," I said to her.

"Dad said he's running late," Tony said. I nodded. Tony and Bailey ran inside to play video games. Will looked to me. I shrugged.

"Let's go," Will said. I followed him. We went into the kitchen. I pushed myself up and sat on the island while Will went into the fridge. He pulled out two sodas and handed me one. I took it, opened it and took a sip. "How do you think Dream will react to the competition?" He asked.

"Don't know. Dusty freaked out at his first competition." I said. Will chuckled.

"Come on. All you two talk about is riding. How about you two go out? Like a date." Bailey yelled from upstairs. Then he and Tony ran down the stairs to us. Tony and Bailey took out their wallets. They both handed me the money.

"We're paying for you guys. Now go out." Tony demanded. I looked at him.

"What about dad?" I asked. Tony sighed. He took the soda from me.

"I'll explain everything to him. Now go!" He said. He pushed me off the island. Will caught me. Bailey was holding his soda. Bailey tossed him the keys and pushed us out the door. They closed the door and locked it.

"I think we're locked out," Will said. I shoved him playfully. We walked to the car.

"I just got shoved by my brother," I said. Will started the car and drove away. "Where are we going?" I asked.

"I was thinking fro-yo." He said. I nodded. When we got there, Will took the money from me. He bought the frozen yogurt, and we ate on the hood of the car. I was crisscrossed, while we were sitting normally.

"What would you have done, if you didn't leave Texas?" He asked. I had to think about that.

"I don't know. Probably getting more scars on my arms, getting more ribbons and trophies in competitions. Same routine every day." I said. "What about you?" I asked.

"Still in my relationship with Sarah, getting yelled at in our one-happy person relationship. Being bored." He said.

"Hey, pretty lady!" Someone shouted. Will and I both turned around. A bunch of boys our age were around a truck. They were staring at me. "Why don't you come have some fun with us." One of them said. They were all wearing jeans and either jean jackets or flannels. They all had shaggy hair and either had a bandana or a baseball hat on.

"In your dreams," I replied. Will chuckled. They all started walking over to us. I looked at my outfit. I was wearing jean shorts, cowgirl boots, a cami with my flannel tied around my waist. The boys were near us. The leader was staring down at me. I was staring back.

"No one ever rejects the Deananator." He said. I stifled back a laugh.

"Do you always talk like your three?" I asked. A bunch of "ooh's" went around.

"You think your real funny don't you?" He asked.

"I call it sass. Or being a smartass." I said. "Now excuse me, but I need to throw away my garbage," I said. He took the bowl from me.

"Allow me." He said. As he went to dump the bowl on me, I knocked the bowl backwards, so it landed on him. I smiled.

"And that's how you say don't talk to me again, in Texas," I said. I got off of the hood and got in the car. Will followed my lead. He started the car and we drove away.

"You're like Dusty. You don't like strangers." He said.

"I don't like strangers that are going to hurt me, threaten me, or make me do bad choices." I corrected him.
