Emily's POV

We were having a BBQ at the barn. Dad was cooking burgers and hot dogs. The topic of the party was my outburst at Stanford.

"I can't believe you said and did both those things," Nani said.

"It was his fault of kissing me and I never really liked it in the first place," I responded. Dad already lectured me on how it was wrong of me to say and do the actions I had did. On the inside, I knew he was proud of me.

"You're going to get grounded by dad," Tony said.

"Do I look like I care?" I asked him.

"You will when it's going to be no riding Dusty for a week." He said. I glared at him.

"Foods ready," Dad yelled. Everyone lined up for the food. When it came to me dad plopped a burger on my plate. "You need to learn to control your anger around new people and places." He said. I smiled.

"Now where's the fun in that?" I asked. He kissed my head, and I went to get more food. I sat on the ground when I got all my food.

"I believe that you won't get a call from Stanford anytime soon," Will said while sitting down next to me.

"I like to call what you just said to me, they don't want me," I replied. He laughed. I bit into my burger. When I was done, I was balancing the plate on my feet, while I was lying on my back.

"Come on Emily were going home," Dad said. Will hit the plate off of my feet. I got up and went over to my dad. He opened the truck door for me.

"Can I ride in the bed?" I asked.

"Me too?" Tony asked. Dad nodded. I ran to the bed of the truck and climbed into it. Tony climbed after me. I knocked on the window, signalling dad that we were ready. He pulled the truck out of Horseland and towards home.

"You should really ask Sarah out," I said to Tony.

"Shut up." He said to me.

"You should before someone else ask her out," I added. He rolled his eyes. Dad pulled into the driveway.

"Guess what Em. It's Friday." Tony said.

"Movie night!" I yelled. I heard dad laugh. Tony and I climbed out of the bed.

"You two, go into more comfy clothes and I'll get the food out. Who's turn is it to choose?" Dad said.

"Mine," Tony said.

"Emily you'll live," Dad added.

"Ya, but Tony always chooses boring or stupid movies," I said.

"And you choose the really scary and disgusting movies." He said back.

"There called horror and action movies," I yelled back, making my way into the house.

"And mine is called historical fiction and comedy." He yelled back.

"How come no one chooses the romance and science fiction?" Dad asks.

"One, who chooses romance?" I asked. They were in the house now.

"Two, you choose science fiction," Tony added. Dad laughed. I heard Tony run up the stairs. I walked into my room and got into my pyjamas. When I got out Tony came out at the same time. I was putting my hair up in a ponytail.

"You two coming?!" Dad asked. We started down the stairs.

"I was thinking about 'Monument Men' for the movie. What do you think?" Tony asked.

"I saw that with a friend. I fell asleep." I said. We came downstairs and we made our way for the living room. Tony and dad took the chairs and I had the couch to myself. Tony turned on the Netflix and played Monument Men. In the first five minutes, my eyes got heavy and I fell asleep.
