Backstory Verity has lived in Mystic Falls since she was born in 1992. She grew up in the Salvatore Boarding House with her mother, father and uncle. She had always been home schooled as her parents were too afraid of the towns supernatural problems. By age fourteen, both of her parents had died in completely mundane circumstances which forced her uncle to send her out to regular old high school. Before sending her, he clued her in on the town and family's secrets so she could be prepared.
