Lafayette POV

"I have an idea! Truth or dare!" I exclaimed, Alex and I were running out of things to do.

"Ugh, fine! Truth or dare?" Alex asked.

"Truth." I answered.

"Are you related to Jefferson?" He replied.

"Why would you even think that? I mean, we do look similar... fine! We're twins. But I'm not an asshole!" I responded, he looked stunned.

"Oh wow, I was kidding..." He trailed off.

"Truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Do you still like John?"

"N-No! Why would you even- I don't! He's dating someone and I am too. So what if he got hotter? It's nothing!" He stuttered in response.

"Ah, sure you don't. Anyway, I choose truth!"

"Are you and Mulligan still together?"

That question hit me. Hercules and I got in a big fight, and never spoke to each other again.

"No." I replied blankly. He seemed taken aback by my lack of an answer, but didn't say anything.

"I choose dare!" Alex exclaimed.

"I dare you to hang out with John!" I laughed.

"Fuuuuck. I will, but only because I'm Alexander Hamilton and I never turn down a challenge!"

John POV

- later that day -

"So Alex... how has life been?" I asked. I could feel the shadows on my face as we walked to a coffee shop. I couldn't believe I agreed to that stupid dare.

"Oh, it's been fine. But I have a question for you. How is Philip?" Alex answered.

"Fat and old, yet somehow still cute." I said.

"Ah, now tell me about your boyfriend." He replied.

"Oh, he's great. He always pays, nice, handsome, funny, smart... oh! Sorry if I'm rambling." I apologized.

"It's fine! So what do you do for a living?"

"Well, I work at this aquarium. I basically teach little kids how to draw turtles. It's great."

"Sounds like it. Oh, we're here!" He opened the door for me, and we sat down at a table.

"So, how about you?" I asked.

"Well, I have a girlfriend now, she's pretty nice. You should meet her sometime. Anyway, my job is basically the same, lawyer." He answered blankly.

"Oh, do you want to get some coffee?"

"Sure!"

We walked up to the counter in an awkward silence.

"Hello. What coffee would you like today?" The barista asked in a monotone voice.

"I'd like something as dark and bitter as my soul." I answered.

"He'll have a white chocolate mocha! And I'll have a black coffee." Alex chimed in.

We both laughed as the barista wrote down our orders and headed to the kitchen.

"Alex, that was a good one."

"I know!"
