Amber's P.O.V

"We're here!" I said as I parked the car.

"Can I take off this stupid jacket which is pretending to be a blindfold?"

"Uhh... I guess."

He untied it and ripped it off.

"Finally.. fresh air!"

"Haha sorry"

"So why is an ice-cream shop such a surprise?"

"I dont know... I'm hungry!"

"Of course you are."

We got out of the car and walked inside, déjà vu hit me from the previous day when we went to the same ice cream shop rather than school.

"What do you want?" I asked him.

"Who's paying?"

"Me."

"Then just a single choc chip scoop in a normal cone."

I turned to the counter and said to the lady:

"Two triple scoop waffle cones with cookies and cream, honeycomb, and...."

"The English toffee is great..." Said the lady, pointing to the full container.

"We'll have that then." I flashed her a smile and turned to Ryan.

"But I only wanted chocolate." He moaned.

"I know you wanted more.... you just didn't want me to have to pay for an expensive ice-cream." I passed her a $20 note and she gave me back the change.

We sat at a table outside licking our detectable ice creams.

"Where to now?" Ryan asked once we had finished.

"Umm..." I trailed off, my mind filled with ideas.

"Let's go do something fun." He suggested.

"Sure!"

"What about ice-skating?"

"I was just thinking that! Let's do it!" I replied.

"But first, I have an idea."

We got in my car and he instructed me to drive to his house.

Once we arrived, we went straight out the back to see a huge treehouse in a tall tree.

"Is this yours?"

"Yep. Me and my Dad made it like 10 years ago."

"Wow."

We climbed up the long ladder and entered the cubby through and door.

It was huge on the inside; it had a couch, flat-screen TV, pool table and a mini kitchen.

"Can I live here? It is amazing!"

"Well, you probably could if you wanted to. But you'd have to squat down there in the bushes." He pointed out a window which showed a view of the whole backyard.

"Haha very funny" I said sarcastically, and hit him lightly on his head.

"Hmm, I know it was." He joked.

"So, why did you choose to come here before ice-skating?"

"I want to get to know you."

"Go ahead.. ask me some questions!"

"What's your favourite food?" He asked.

"Umm..... potatoes. What's yours?"

"What type of potatoes? And mine is.... M'n'Ms."

"Rost potatoes, chips, fries, boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes.... I just like potatoes!! Now what's your favourite colour?"

"Light blue. Yours?"

"Light green."

"Favourite two movies."

"The Ring and Grown Ups."

"Oh, so horror and comedy?"

"Yep."

"Mine would have to be... umm.... The Conjuring and Marley and Me."

"Oh my god did you cry in the end of Marley and Me?" I asked.

"Well... uh....... noo"

"You did cry, didn't you?"

"No!"

"You so did."

"Fine... but don't tell anyone!"

"Who's there to tell?"

He smiled, showing his dimples.

"Favourite TV show?" I asked.

"How I Met Your Mother, Two And A Half Men and The Big Bang Theory."

"Same with me but also Grey's Anatomy."

"Awesome. What's your middle name?"

"What's yours?"

"James."

"Ryan James Smith. Sexy!"

"Hahaha I agree! Now what's your's?"

"Natalie."

"Amber Natalie Grey. What a beautiful name!"

"Not at all!" I could feel a blush creeping up my neck until it settled on my cheeks. I looked down and my hair fell over my face.

I felt Ryan move in closer next to me, and the next thing I know, he pulled the hair out of my face and placed it behind my ear. I looked up to see him staring at me.

"I like when you blush like that." He said quietly and leaned in close to me, our face only inches apart. He moved in that small space and tilted his head slightly. Our lips brushed, and he leaned in, filling all the space that was left by pressing his lips on mine.

I completely froze.

What should I do?

Pull away?

Stay still?

...Kiss him back?

My eyes flew open and I pulled away.

"Oh my god.... Amber I'm so sorry.... I got caught up in the moment and it wasn't meant to happen! I'm really sorry."

"Just.... don't worry about it." I mumbled, and climbed out of the treehouse.

"Amber! Where are you going?"

"Home. I need some time to think. I'll ring you later." And with that, I ran across his yard, out the front gate and to my car.
