Reflections

I looked into her eyes
And wondered how she saw herself
As anything less than perfect
Her smile lit up the room
Brighter than a late night moon
Her laugh left an echoing chorus
Of angels singing in my head
Her personality filled the place
Fuller than all of the stars in space

Sure, we all have different views on perfection
But how can one person see beauty
When all another sees is broken reflections
Focusing on the negative
Can cause a mind to rot far beyond repair
I guess we're all just a step away from there
We all seem to have one fatal flaw
We cannot see ourselves through the eyes of those around us
So we settle on broken mirrors
And shattered reflections
These distorted images
Never provide for us the truth
Our images only reside
In the back of someone else's mind

A picture may speak a thousand words
But it never does the story justice
So, if you want to see your beauty
The real beauty you are
Stop looking for the flaws that no one sees
And look at yourself through another's eyes
