"Erika, you okay?""...Pom..." She said, nuzzling Ruko, tearing up."It's okay, take it easy."And then the opponent began to gloat. "HA! What lame Pokemon! Why'd you even bother with such a worthless Pokemon?!" Eric mocked.Immediately, another young trainer stepped in front of the defeated trainer, a Chimchar on his shoulder. "Hey! Leave them alone!""CHAR!" The Chimchar, Flame shouted as if in agreement."Whatever, let's go Houndoom." Eric said, leaving with his Pokemon.The Chimchar then jumped off and came over to the Aipom."...Pom?""Char, Chim chimchar?" Flame asked the Aipom."Pom..." Was her reply."Let's get her and the others to the Pokemon Center." Said Erika's Trainer."Alright Ruko,"~~~"All your Pokemon are just fine." Nurse Joy said, as she handed Ruko back his Pokeballs and his Aipom."Thanks Nurse Joy," He said, as he took his Pokeballs, and Erika jumped into his arms. "Feeling better, girl?"Erika nodded."Good, well... League's over for us." Ruko and Erika sighed together.Meanwhile, the other boy waited outside the Pokemon Center for his friend. "Char?" Flame asked, worried sick about Erika.The boy, whose name is Mark, comforts his friend. "Don't worry buddy, she's going to be fine."On cue, Ruko came out, holding Erika."CHAR!" Flame immediately jumped off Mark's shoulder in joy and ran to the Aipom."Looks like your Pokemon are all healed up." "But Erika's sad that we lost... and to Eric of all people."The Aipom indeed was a little teary eyed.Flame tried to comfort her. While Mark replied, "Well, I think the two of us are up next. We could beat him for you." ~~~"Chimchar is unable to battle, Infernape wins. The Victory goes to Ishani from Ruby City!""Flame!" Mark shouted and held his trusted partner in his arms."Char..." The poor little guy was out of breath and out of strength."Here." Ishani said, offer a bottle of moomoo milk, with a baby bottle top for ease of sipping. "This'll help him feel better.""T- thanks." He took the bottle and fed Flame with it. The little chimchar contently sucked on the bottle, sipping the milk bit by bit."Nape." Ishani's infernape said, concerned about Flame."I think he'll be fine. Thanks for the help. And," He held out a hand. "great battle there."Ishani accepted the hand shake. "You too. Now let's get your little buddy to the Pokemon center.""Yeah," Mark got up and carried Flame to the Pokemon Center, followed by Ishani.~~~As Mark's Pokemon were being healed."So, you two hear the strange news?""No, what news?""Losing trainers from the top 32 have begun disappearing." Ishani said."W- WHAT?!" Mark's reaction was immediate. "But...that includes us!" "Well, it's only a select few it seems."Mark took a worried glance at Ruko. "Let's just hope we're not part of them.""Well... I have to go now." Ishani said."Alright, see ya."~~~Later on, the compeition was postponed due to the disappearance, and trainers were unhappy with the news."Maybe it was a good thing we lost." Ruko said."Well, why?" Was Mark's reply."Look how upset everyone is with the competition being put on hold." Ruko said."Well, you're right. We should get something for Erika and Flame. For helping us out in the tournament.""Char?""Hey, a cookie vendor!" Ruko pointed out."Cool! Do you want some cookies Flame?""CHAR!" The Chinchar nodded in response."You too Erika?""Pom!"Overhearing them, the vendor walked over to them. "Welcome boys, you and your Pokemon hungry?" The cookie seller asked."Well, yeah. Could we have four cookies please?""Sure, we're giving them out for free." The man said, handing them each a cookie shaped like a Pokemon.Mark looked over his cookie, which was shaped like a Chimchar. "That looks amazing." He said before eating it."Char!" Flame agreed while eating his own.Ruko gave Aipom an Aipom Cookie, before eating one of his own."Thank you." Mark said to the vendor. "They're really delicious."The vendor was suddenly not there."Huh? Where is he?""Whoa... I feel... woozy..." Ruko said, as he suddenly passed out."Uh...I don't...feel so...good..." Mark passed out as well."Char? CHAR!" Flame tried to shake Mark awake. Only to feel drowsy, and to pass out as well. Erika soon followed.~~~Not long after, the four woke up. They'd been locked up in a large cage and were in some kind of lab.Mark began to panic. "Wh- where are we?""I don't like this." Ruko said, as a familiar man approached the cage."Welcome to my lab.""Wait, you're...the COOKIE VENDOR!""A brillant disguise. I am Dr. Virus.""Dr....Virus?""Yes, and you are now part of a group." "What group?""A group of humans specially selected to test my new weapon, the Neo Pokerus."Mark tried to get away from the man as far as possible, which wasn't much. "Neo Pokerus?""Just need one more and... oh, here she is."Immediately a familiar girl and Infernape is thrown into the cage with them."Ishani!" Mark screamed after recognizing her."Mark? Ruko? What's going on?""The man, he said something about testing a new virus!""What?! But..""Enough talk. Time to begin." The doctor then pushed a red button.Suddenly Ruko felt a tingling sensation in his hands. When he looked, he saw yellow fur traveling up his hand. His fingers slowly begin to merge into one single paw. Ruko gulped as he looked at his stubby little paw. "Help..."Mark looked on in horror as the boy's feet came next, following the same fate as his hands, yellow fur surrounding his feet and the toes merging into a paw, this time with three digits.."Help me..." Ruko said, as he began to shrink down in size."I...I don't know how..." Mark said as the soft, purple fur spread up his arms and legs, Ruko couldn't help but scream after recognizing the fur."I'm turning into an aipom!" he said, before his now baggy clothes swallowed him up as he shrank down more and more.Mark shakily took off the clothes, and pulling out the now tiny Ruko. The poor boy was nearly complete. He'd been shrunken to proper Aipom size, the fur covers and trrnsformed most of his body, only the head remained unchanged and he didn't have his tail yet.However, he soon felt something pulling out at his lower back, looking behind him, he sees a long tail emerging."You lucky little one. I control the virus. And i've decided to let you enjoy your last bit of humanity before you fully turn into an Aipom. Instead you can watch your friends turn into Pokemon first... oh dear, I'll be right back." Dr. Virus ran for the bathroom."Help... me..." Poor Ruko was exhausted from the transformation so far.Erika then perked up. "Ruko, can you hear me?""Erika... you can talk?""No, you can understand me now that you're over 75% Pokemon now. Listen, I know you're scared, but I'm here to help. And I know a friend who can help." The Aipom dug into the old clothes and pulled out Ruko's Pokeball belt, she pulled one off and opened it, letting out a Kangaskhan."Kan...ga?" Ruko looked at his Pokemon, now towering over him."...Ruko! Erika, what's happening to him?!" The New Pokemon asked, panicking.Erika hurriedly explained everything that's going on. And that Ruko needs some motherly care."Oh dear... Here sweetie." Kanga picked up Erika and Ruko, and gently tucked them cozily into her pouch, "Nice and safe, Kanga will protect you." She said as she pouched the Pokeball belt."Oh, a new mommy for the almost Aipom, eh?" Virus asked, returning."Why are you doing this??" Was Mark's angered question."Just for that, say goodbye to your friends remaining human parts." Virus pushed the button again.The fur quickly spread up Ruko's head, ears quickly becoming larger, his hair shrank and became part of his fur, with small tufts growing out at the middle. Ruko was now completely turned into an Aipom cub, all that was left of his human form, was his blue eyes, and his unchanged mind.Poor Ruko was frightened, but Kanga and Erika are there, comforting him. His fear couldn't harm him with them around, as Kanga soothed Ruko into slumber, the little aipom now slept adorably in her pouch.Mark was terrified, before his eyes, his friend turned into an Aipom in a matter of minutes.Virus pushed another button, and Ishani began to feel something tingling at her hands."Oh no..."She watches as reddish brown fur grows over her hands, her fingers shrinking into a paw. She nearly shrieked in fear but Kanga picked up and cradled Ishani. "Don't be scared, I'll keep you safe from this doctor. Just calm down. Shh, Shh, Shh, Shh, shhhhh." She grabbed onto Kanga and sobbed softly. "It's okay, Kanga's here. It's gonna be okay."As she felt the next changes coming, Ishani managed to hand Kanga here Pokeball Belt, which Kanga tucked into her pouch.She began to shrink into her clothes. She then felt something building up behind her. She was horrified to see six red tails growing out from behind her.Mark screamed in horror, he knew he was next, but Kanga covered him mouth, and he realized he nearly woke up Ruko, who needed to sleep through this.Kanga dug through the clothes and pulled out a human headed Vulpix cub."Kanga?" Ishani asked. "Please keep me safe." She said as her face pushed out into a muzzle. Fur quickly covering her head while her hair became part of the fur."I will." Kanga said, gently tucking Ishani into her pouch, where the exhausted Vulpix fell asleep, a look of peace on her face.Flame clung on to Mark's pants. Scared of what's going to happen to him."You're scared. Good. I'll let you stew in the fear, and test on others." Virus said, he then walked off, and began transforming the trainers in the others cages. He turned a little boy into helpless Riolu Cub. And another into a small Drilbur. He then turned a girl into a pichu, and her sister into a Pikachu."STOP IT!" Mark screamed. Not wanting to see anyone turned again.Ignoring Mark, Virus turned yet another child into a Mudkip, then a Turtwig, then a Torchic. One boy pleaded for his humanity before being turned into an eevee cub. And yet another girl into a Buneary. The final one was a boy being turned into helpless little pidgey.As Virus came back towards Mark's group, Kanga spoke to Mark and Flame. "Listen to me, I know you're scared, but I need you to go through the transformation, without panic. If you want to at least get out of here and get everyone here to a safe place, endure the transformation, while I use some special magic to call on help. Understand?"Mark slowly nodded, but was definitely scared. He couldn't stop shivering.But then, Flame took hold of Mark's hand, ready to share some courage with him, for their sake and the sake of the other kids.Mark calmed downa little. But watched fearfully as Virus pushed the button. Mark instantly began shrinking down, as his hands and feet turned cream colored, each losing a finger or a pair of toes. Thin orange-red fur began spreading up his armas and legs. He tried not to scream, as his legs shrank and shifted a bit. He felt a small burst behnd him. Looking back, he sees a small, tiny flame. Just like..."Flame???" He looked at his partner after realizing what he's turning into.Flame kept his grip on the hands, and Mark's fear vanished. He could tell at this point- Flame was not only seeing him through the process, but he was somehow controling the virus, willing it to turn Mark into a Chimchar.Shrinking close to Flame's size, even a bit smaller then Flame, he grabbed Flame in a grateful and loving hug. Before feeling his ears grow larger, and the orange fur swallowed up his hair.Flame hugged back, as Mark fully turned into a Chimchar. Flame dug into Mark's old clothes and pulled out his Pokeball belt, and then got Mark, then himself into Kanga's Pouch. The Kangaskhan was praying, calling out for help, somehow.Already exhausted from the transformation, it wasn't hard for Flame to lull the new Chimchar to sleep. "It's ok buddy, get some rest." Was the last thing Mark heard before falling asleep.Before Virus could do anything else, the ground began to rubble and shake. Surprising him. "What's going on??"Kanga pulled out some earplugs, and placing them in the ears of her pouch'ed cubs, then, through walls came a group of angry Kangaskhan. "What the-?" Virus was knocked aside, forcing him to drop and spill a vial of the virus.The Kangaskhan got to work, opening the cages and tucking as many transformed trainers as possible in their pouches, also retrieving Pokeballs and Pokemon partners. The former trainers clung on to the Kangaskhan. Some sobbing, some shivering. But once they were pouched, the pouches warmed them up and kept them cozy. They immediately went to a relaxed slumber, as one Kangaskhan, after pouching the Pichu and Pikachu girls, locked Virus in the cage and keeping the key.~~~Hours later, the children began to stir. Mark opened his eyes. Then looking around him, he spotted Ruko and Ishani. He quickly tried to wake them up. But Flame stopped him."Let them sleep." Flame said... wait... said?"Flame? D- did you just talk?""You're a Pokemon now, we can understand one another as if we were humans." Flame smiled. "Anyway, just let them sleep, that's Captain Raikou's orders."Mark looked over his new body. "S- so it's true then...we're all Pokemon now..." Mark began to cry."It's okay... We've brought you to a safe place, another world where Pokemon live like humans in a way.""We're safe? All of us?"Flame nodded. "As are the Trainers' Pokemon, all our friends are here... well not here here, they're working on setting up our new homes. Anyway, the point is, now that you're here in Gaia, you're safe, little bro." Flame hugged the younger chimchar."Little...bro?" Then again, he did feel younger."It's okay, Mark. From now on, Flame's gonna take good care of you." Flame said, before playfully tickling Mark's tummy.Mark giggled and fell on the ground. "H- hey!" He tried to push Flame away. Then tried to tickle him back. Soon they found themselves playing like the little monkeys they are.~~~Ishani work up, feeling refreshed and relaxed. "Where... am I?" She spotted her Infernape next to her. "Morning, my little angel cub.""I- Infernape?" "Actually... I have a name... It's Pyro." He said, picking Ishani up. "It's okay, Ishani, you're safe.""Pyro..." She looked over herself. Then felt sad."Shhh. It's okay. While you're now stuck as a Pokemon, you're now in a safe place, a Pokemon World called Gaia, where all Pokemon live in peace, harmony, and equality. No one will hurt you, and soon, you, me, and all your Pokemon shall live in our own home, and you can live out your new life in peace.""Really? No one to harm us?" She asked not quite believing it."No one. And now," Pyro cuddled Lily. "I get to care for you. Pyro's now the big brother."Ishani couldn't help but giggle a little. "My big bro?""Yep. no more labor for the good little girl, big bro is gonna care for you now."Ishani couldn't help but laugh. First her Pokemon, now her big brother. "Oh, Ishani, your eyes are still a bit heavy." Pyro said, tucking her back into the bed. "Sleep all you need."She whined a little. "But I just slept.""Go on, give it a few more seconds,"She pouted, but did so anyway. Actually falling asleep quickly. ~~~Ruko was next to wake up, this time, he was in Kanga's Pouch."Huh?" He tried to crawl out. Not sure of where he is. "Am I? In Kanga's...pouch?"Kanga then pushed him back down into the pouch."Not so fast little Aipom. Erika's not back with lunch yet.""Aipom?" Then he remembered what happened earlier. "Oh...right..." He shrunk back in the pouch."It's okay, sweetie. Erika and I brought you to a safer place, where you can live your new Pokemon Life in peace.""Where's Mark?...and Ishani?""Mark's playing with Flame, and Ishani's napping under Pyro's watch.""Then the other kids? Did they make it out...unchanged?""Well.. they were all transformed... but they're okay. Take a look." Kanga urged.Curious, the little Aipom poked his head out of the pouch and looked out.The Riolu boy was being lovingly cuddled by a Lucario and Gardevoir duo. The Drilbur child is happily playing with a Sandslash and an Excadrill. The Pichu and Pikachu girls were being comforted by a Raichu. The Mudkip was seen playing in the water, a Swampert behind him. The Turtwig, asleep, with a Torterra and Venusaur next to her. The Torchic is being comforted by a Grovyle. The Eevee boy was crying, comforted by an Espeon and Umbreon. The Buneary sleeping while being cuddled by a Lopunny. And the Pidgey also crying, being hugged by a Pidgeotto."Most of them look happy..." Was Ruko's comment."I sense you wish to help the crying kids, the Eevee and the Pidgey?""Yeah...but...I don't know how...and they already look like the older Pokemon are doing a better job..."Kanga pulled him out of the pouch and set him on the ground. "Go on, go try to help." Kanga smiled.Ruko looked back at Kanga, then slowly walked to the Pidgey boy."Oh, hello there." The Pidgeotto greeted. "Are you another transformed trainer?"Ruko flinched back upon hearing that term. "Yes...""Well... my kid needs a friend, a fellow victim. Can you help me comfort him?"Ruko nodded slowly. And approached the Pidgey. "Hey...""...You... you were the first trainer that Virus turned into Pokemon... Are... you... Are you still human minded?""Y- yes...well, they say my eyes are still n-... human ones...and...please don't mention Virus again..."Pidgeotto showed the boy a mirror, the little one saw his eyes were still human like, one blue, one brown. Suddenly, his fear was gone. He ran over and hugged Ruko. "Thank you... My name is Taka... can we be friends?"Ruko hugged back. "Of course I'd love to be friends.""Hey, the eevee boy is crying. Let's go see what's the matter." Pidgeotto said."Okay." Taka smiled.The three approached the eevee."Hey... you're Kanga's cub, right?" Umbreon asked."Well...she used to be my Pokemon...but yeah...I guess she's my momma now...""Maybe you can help us." Espeon said. "You see... our kid, Cody, is scared.""Back as a human, he didn't have friends. And he wants friends, badly, having grown up alone all his life. He considers us and the rest of his Pokemon as his family, thus not counting." Umbreon explained."And now that he's a Pokemon, he thinks he'll never be able to make friends, even here in the Pokemon World of Gaia.""I know how to help him." Taka approached Cody and gently nudged the eevee with one of his wings. "Cody right?""Yeah?" Cody looked up."I'm Taka. I'd like to be your friend." The Pidgey smiled gently."R- really?" Cody looked a lot happier at those words."Mmhmm, Now that we're Pokemon, I think it's a good idea for us to be here for one another. I'll happily be your friend.""Me too." Ruko joined in."..." Cody cuddled his new friends. "Thank you."Ruko joined in. "You're welcome." Taka joined the hug. "Same here."Erika returned with some steak. "Where's Ruko?""Erika?" Ruko waves to her."What are you doing over here?" Erika asked, coming over.Then she saw the friends Ruko made. "Erika, this is Cody and Taka.""Oh, hello there."They greeted back. Then Ruko's tummy began rumbling, much to his embarassment.Erika smiled, giving him the plate with the mouth-watering steak."Wow...thanks Erika!" The little Aipom shouted in delight as he ate the steak."So, you cubs have your pokeparents?" Erika asked Ruko's new friends.Cody nodded and walked back to Espeon and Umbreon. While Taka pointed to Pidgeotto. "She's my Momma.""Nice to meet you. I'm Ruko's Partner-turn-big-sister."Ruko blushed at that comment. "Big sis?""You're younger than me now, silly."In fact, Ruko did feel a lot younger. "It...feels weird...""It's okay, Ruko. We'll work it out."He smiled and hugged her. "Thank you big sis.""You know, Taka and Cody's homes won't be finished till tomorrow. And ours just got finished... Sleepover? We can throw in Ishani and Mark.""Yeah!" Ruko felt excited to meet up with his new and old friends.And so, Ruko and his friends began their new lives, in peace and happinsess under the care of the Pokemon they'd cared for all these years.~~~Back at the lab, Dr. Virus was pale, as a little Rattata was sniffing the spilt vial of the Neo-Pokerus."Don't touch that! It's dangerous!"But the little one didn't listen, curiously placing a paw in the liquid, which then quickly absorbed into its skin.When the Rattata looked back, it's eyes were glowing. Terrifying Virus.A scream was heard as the Rattata lunged at Virus.
