Chapter 30: Barrier Part 2

What is going on? Bradley. I missed you so much. Can’t you just get rid of these mysterious acts and just be with me? Demi sighed. She was confused. Why the rush? She never seen him this agitated before or even looked scared like that. Something must’ve bothered him to the point that he couldn’t be much of the silly ol’ British boy Demi fallen for.

Footsteps heightened. Clicks clacks of her pumps echoed the hallway. She held her head low. Arms clasped onto her side. Thinking hard. Maybe she should follow him back there. To save her from this never-ending curiosity rage. He had been out of surface for such a long time. Demi deserves news, anything will do. Just to relieve her of her misery. “That idiot.” She spat.

“That bastard.”

“That good for nothing bastard.”

“I don’t care if you’re cute. Who cares!? You’re still an idiot. Yeah. You are. An idiot. An idiot who doesn’t know how to treat a girl. Pfft, what kind of idiot would do such a thing? Leaving a girl like that. No text. No call. No friggin’ news. Tsk. That--- IDIOT!”

Eyes were turned. Unknown to the Latina, she was out of the empty hallways and back to the hectic party in the studio. She crossed few crews with eyes glaring, burning holes to the ground. Arms crossed. Clack clack clack loud enough to her hearing, amidst the deafening sound from the speakers. She reached the refreshment table and grabbed a cup full of fruit punch. She growled. “Tsk. Idiot.”

Selena finally caught a glimpse of her best friend rushed over to her. “Brady’s there?” but the look on the latina’s face said it well enough. She sighed. “It’s weird. He’s being weird. That’s bizarre. He rarely does this kinda thing, yanno.”

“You don’t say.” Demi sarcastically replied.

“I mean it—“ Selena retorted. However, Demi was not in the mood for another set of ‘My Life with Bradley Watson’ monologue. “He really is a sweet fella—“ she continued, quickening her paces by the latina’s side. “When it comes to times like this, like… being gone and stuff like that, it could only mean one thing!” she breathed. “That brat is up to something. Something bad. I knew it. The last time he did this ends up having him brawling with some jerk back home. And all of it over some stupid deck of cards.”

“I’m pretty sure it’s not some deck of cards, Selena.” Demi snapped. “You should see his face. He seemed scared.”

“Scared?”

“Yeah. It’s like… his life is in danger or something.”

“Woah, you’re making it look like a horror film. Stop it. He’s not gonna die.”

“Who’s implying he’s gonna die?”

“You are!!”

“No I’m not!”

“You’re making it sound like he’s gonna die!!!”

On the other sides, counting the layers of concrete walls of the studio; he had walked further inside this concrete jungle. Minding the security guards passing by. Avoiding any contact with the cleaners and even the crews whom he shared jokes dearly; he had gone more agitated than before.

I can’t do it. It’s just bloody stupid. She would never do such things with me. Me and my big ego. Stupid. Stupid. You stupid brat. I’ll just let that son of a bitch know that I’m over this. Who the hell cares if I lost, I like her. That’s all that matter. It’s just money. I can work for them. Yeah. I’ll do that.
