I wrote this story in early 2016, shortly after The Force Awakens came out in theaters and finished all 125k words of it in 3 months. I posted this story on FanFicitonDotNet, AO3, and here on Wattpad. It did best on FFnet (as of 12/30/17 over 56k reads), but didn't catch on too well here on Wattpad when I first posted it. I think due to the mature rating. Wattpad isn't very good at allowing mature rated stories to be ranked or easily searched, so it kind of fell into obscurity, at least here...until now. Thanks to the recent release of The Last Jedi this story has exploded here on Wattpad. (It's also resurged in popularity on FFnet and AO3). All the Reylo worshippers are coming out again, and I have really missed you guys ^_^
You have NO idea how happy I am that TLJ has strongly hinted at a Reylo. Not to mention a force bond and several other things I hoped to see happen, but, overall, TLJ was a mess. Outside of Rey and Ben's interactions, it was just not a very good movie and it's kind of ruined any enthusiasm I have the new Star Wars trilogy. I'll probably still watch episode 9 to see what happens with our favorite ship, but I'm not feeling confident that the story will be handled well. It's a real shame. I felt like episode 7, while not perfect, had the potential to become something great, and, sadly, they dropped the ball - hard.
At least TLJ didn't completely destroy my story by doing something like making Kylo and Rey related, so even though my story is alternate universe at this point; I think it still captures the Reylo spirit.
To this day Meet Me in the Grey is the first and only fanfiction that I've ever written and it was a ton of fun. I mostly do my own original fiction which is on a different account. I primarily write fantasy romance (yes, with smut). I've written and self-published a novel since I wrote this, and am working on yet another. I know some of you are wondering if I'll do any more Reylo fanfiction, but I'm pretty busy with my own original work right now, especially with my book launch. I would like to do a few short one-shots, but I'm not sure when I'll find the time. If I do find more time, maybe I'll post a little more Reylo.
