The next day, Axl and I got up and got dressed to go shopping for Christmas decorations. The two of us were kind of awkward around each other at first, but without a word the both of us just put it behind us and we were ready to start a new day.

"Well, what are we searching for?" Axl asked me as we were driving to a Christmas store.

"What do you not have?" I asked him.

"A lot of things," He said.

"Maybe some garland to wrap around the railings of the stairs? And new ornaments?" I suggested.

"Yeah, that sounds nice," Axl agreed with me, "The tree could also use some new lights."

"Then that's what we'll look for," I said.

There was a ton of stuff to make your jaw drop when you walk in. There's toy trains and airplanes everywhere. Lots of trees, glistening lights, a whole wall of ornaments, and hats.

Axl grabbed a basket to put stuff in. I ran over to the Christmas hats and grabbed a couple. I put one on my head and threw one at Axl, making him smile.

"Let's get them," I told him.

"Alright," Axl agreed, putting them in the basket.

We walked over to the lights and grabbed a couple of boxes, then got lots of garland to wrap around the railings.

"Hey, we should get a train set to put around the tree," Axl suggested.

"Let's get one then," I said, bending down to look at the different ones.

"Which one?" I asked.

"I think this one," Axl said, pointing at the box. The train was much bigger than the small basket Axl had, so I figured I'd carry it.

"I'll carry it," I said, taking it off the shelf.

"Let's get ugly sweaters, too!" Axl said excitedly. I laughed.

"You're getting really excited about this," I pointed out.

Axl shrugged. "Christmas is a fun time," He said.

"You're right. It really is," I agreed.

We walked over to the ornaments and picked some out. We decided to go with a blue and silver theme for the tree. We picked out tons of ornaments. Glass ones and plastic ones. Round ones and funky shaped ones. By that point the basket was full.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas," Axl sang along with the music overhead.

"Everywhere you go," I joined in.

"Take a look at the five and ten glistening once again," We both sang together in perfect harmony.

"With candy canes and silver lanes aglow," Axl sang by himself.

"Speaking of which we should get some candy canes," I said.

"I think I saw some up front," Axl told me.

We walked over to the ugly sweaters and we both picked one out. Mine was red and itchy with reindeer on it and Axl's was blue and red with Christmas trees on it.

"My skin itches just looking at it," Axl said, examine his sweater.

I laughed. "Mine too!" I said as we approached the long checkout line.

"Hey, there's the candy canes," Axl said, pointing behind me.

I turned around and grabbed a box with my one free arm. I handed it to Axl and he put it on top of everything else in the basket.

"I can't wait to get home and start decorating," I told him.

"We'll put on some Christmas music while we decorate, then we'll watch movies in our ugly sweaters afterwards," Axl said, making my heart flutter all over again.

"You are do know your way into my heart, babe," I told him, making him smirk.

"I love you," He said as it was our turn to check out.

"I love you, too," I replied to him.

When we got home, we spent the rest of the day decorating. We might've overdone a few things, but the mansion felt cozy and Christmasy. It was nighttime whenever I changed into sweatpants and put the sweater on. We made coffee and grabbed the plate of Christmas cookies and cuddled together on the couch and watched Christmas movies.

That's how I fell asleep that night. With a half eaten cookie in one hand and my head resting on Axl's shoulder.
