"Hungry, m'lady?" Axl asked me in a fake British accent as we pushed through the crowd of people on the pier.

"A little," I told him, giggling.

"Will a hotdog satisfy your hunger, or a pretzel?" Axl asked me, continuing the accent as we stood in front of a stand that sold different types of fair food.

"A hotdog please," I said.

"Anything for the lady," He said, making me smile and he stepped up to order two hotdogs.

I stood behind him and smiled as the cashier yelled the order to the people working in the back of the food stand. It was quite nice of Axl to buy me a hotdog.

"Your hotdog," Axl said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Thanks," I said rather quietly while taking the hotdog out of his hand.

"I'm sorry this isn't much of a romantic date," Axl said.

I just laughed. "It's a first date," I reminded him.

"I know, I know, it's just," he paused, "I don't feel like I'm impressing you. I mean, walking around on a crowded pier at night eating cheap hotdogs that aren't all that great isn't the best date in the world."

"I would prefer this over a fancy date any day," I told him, making him smile.

"I think you're the first girl I've dated to tell me that. Im glad you think that," He said.

"I mean, fancy dates are nice every now and then, but this is fun," I said.

"Right," Axl agreed, taking a bite into his hotdog.

"Want to get on the Ferris wheel?" I asked, pointing in that direction.

"Sure," Axl said, "race you there!" Then, he took off.

"Wait, I wasn't ready!" I yelled at him, dropping my half eaten hotdog in the trash can beside me and taking off.

I pushed past people saying "excuse me" or "pardon me" like it was no big deal. Axl just pushed people out of the way without of the word. He occasionally glanced back to look at me and laugh.

I took off and ran as fast as I could, almost catching up to him. Then, finally, I passed him.

"How do ya like me now?" I breathlessly called to him, continuing to run to the Ferris wheel.

"I'm not giving up yet!" He yelled.

The next thing I knew, I was on the ground and watching Axl laugh and keep running ahead. He had caught up with me and stuck his foot out and tripped me.

Sighing, I got myself up and walked the rest of the way. It was right there, so it wasn't long. I jumped in line with Axl, who was smirking at me.

"Fuck you," I said, trying not to smile.

"Aw, is someone mad?" He asked in a sweet, baby voice as he poked at my sides to try and get on my nerves.

"Yes, very," I said, turning so my back was facing him.

"Someone's being a sore loser," He said in a teasing voice. I couldn't help but smile and roll my eyes. I turned around.

"Shut up," I said and we both just laughed.

"I knew I could get you to give in," He said.

"Uh huh," I responded, nodding my head.

Soon, the two of us got onto a yellow car on the Ferris wheel. We sat across from each other. I began shivering when we took off. I didn't realize how cold and windy it was up here and I didn't think to bring a jacket.

"Laura, do you want my jacket?" Axl asked me, taking off his leather jacket.

"If you don't mind. I don't want you to be cold," I said to him, taking his jacket.

"Nah, I'm good. I've got a flannel on," He said, motioning to the red and white flannel shirt he was wearing.

"If you say so," I said, "Just tell me if you want your jacket back."

Axl just shook his head. "Nope. It's fine."

The Ferris wheel slowly made its way to the top, making a few stops on the way up so more people could get on and off.

"You can't really see the ocean because it's dark, but during the day it's a beautiful view from the top of this thing," Axl said, looking out over the edge.

"It really is. I love the beach," I told him.

"Yeah, me too," He agreed.

After the Ferris wheel ride was over, we had gotten on a roller coaster, played a couple of games, and Axl had won me a small purple stuffed dog that we named Ralph. Then, we grabbed some cotton candy and left that place.

"Did you have a good time?" Axl asked me as we got back in the car.

"Yes. I enjoyed it very much," I said, beaming at him.

"Want to do it again? But, we can do something else," He said.

I nodded. "Yeah, sure. Whenever you want to," I told him, taking a bite into my cotton candy.

"How about Friday before our show? We can go grab lunch and hang out then you can stay backstage while we perform if you want," He suggested with a shrug.

I smiled. "I think that sounds fun," I said.

"Cool," Axl said, "Now where do you live so I can take you home?"
