One of the worst things a man could ever do would be to kiss me on the first date. If a man kisses you on the first date, then he's too desperate. That means he's just out looking for someone so he can say he's with someone. You don't deserve a man like that.

"Oh, come on, Laura!" Cassie said as I finished tying my shoe.

"Are you ready?" She asked me.

"I'll be ready when I'm ready," I told Cassie.

Cassie leaned against the refrigerator and sighed. "I just can't believe that you got a date with Axl Rose!" She exclaimed.

I tried not to smile, but I couldn't help but smirk a little. I rolled my eyes. "It's nothing," I said.

"He likes you! I told you he was winking at you! Now you guys are a thing all because of me!" Cassie stated proudly.

I just shook my head. "We're not a so called 'thing', Cassie," I reminded her, "He just asked me out on a date."

"Yeah, because he likes you," Cassie said.

"So?" I asked, shrugging.

"So?" Cassie asked, her eyes widening, "Just so? Axl fucking Rose asked you out on a date and all you have to say is so?"

I nodded. "Hey, Axl is a normal person just like you or I, so I feel like we should treat him like one," I said, thinking about what Axl told me last night.

"So, are you ready to go?" She asked.

"I'm ready," I replied.

The two of us were going to be out shopping today. It was Cassie's idea, of couse. Classic Cassie. She wanted me to get something nice to wear for my date tonight but in reality it was also an excuse for her to buy herself some nice things.

"So where are you two going tonight?" Cassie asked me, twirling the ends of her hair around her fingers as we walked down the sidewalk of Los Angeles.

It was bright, sunny, and of course, hot as hell. It was a good thing I decided on shorts and a short sleeved shirt. I felt bad for Cassie who wore jeans.

I shrugged in response to Cassie. "I don't know yet. It's undecided," I said, making Cassie frown.

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"Undecided? Then how will we know what to buy you!" She exclaimed, stopping in the middle of the crowded sidewalk. She said it so loudly that we got a few looks from the people passing by.

I just sighed. "I'll just wear something casual," I told her, "It will be fine."

"Then why are we going shopping, then?" Cassie asked me as we continued to make our way to the bus stop to get to the most famous mall in Hollywood.

"Because I know that you're going to want to look around," I said, looking at my friend.

Cassie just looked at me and smirked. "You know me so well."

"I know," I responded as we stopped at the bus stop.

We sat down on the old, rusted black metal bench waiting for the bus to arrive. Fortunately, it didn't take too long, so we timed it right.

Cassie and I both dug some change out of our pockets and climbed onto the bus, paying the driver. We took two empty seats in the middle of the bus beside each other.

"Bus isn't that busy today," Cassie said.

I shook my head. "It's not," I told her.

"Hey, check this out," Cassie said, bending down to pick up a discarded newspaper someone had left on the bus earlier today.

The article it was on had a large picture of the Santa Monica pier and Cassie glanced over at me and smirked. I raised an eyebrow.

"What?" I asked.

"Perfect date. Santa Monica pier," Cassie said, handing me the newspaper.

"Ew, It has gum on it," I said, dropping it as soon as she forces it into my hands, making Cassie giggle a little.

"But seriously. You guys should go there," Cassie told me.

"Hey, it's not up to just me. Plus, it's just a first date. We don't even know each other that we'll yet. Maybe we just want to go for a walk or out to eat," I told Cassie.

"But that's boring," She whined.

"Well, Cassandra, it's not your date," I said, smoothing out my shirt. At that exact moment in time the bus arrived at the mall.

"Hey good timing. Now this is the part where you dramatically storm off the bus," Cassie said, making me laugh and break character.

"But seriously, Cas, let's get off of this nasty bus," I said to her as we made our way through the isle and off of the bus.

Here we were. Cassie and I's favorite mall.
