-Normal POV-

August 31st, 2019

6:30 a.m.

Zane was throwing a football to his teammate for the final touchdown. He and his team have been practicing since 4:30 a.m. for when they go up against the schools greatest rival, Lamitor High, the only school that beats them in football.  Zane was the varsity quarter-back and also one of the strongest males in the school. He wasn't as strong as Ian, but he was definitely strong enough to be a Royal. He could have easily took the position of Jack, but the meetings would get in the way of his football practice, he would much rather be the football captain than the school Jack. People say Ace got the rank by beating his competitors while their guard was down, though nobody could prove it. And Ian took the place of King since he was the strongest and it would boost his ego even more than it already was.

Zane was excited about this next game. He had played football since he was a kid with his father before he disappeared, and knew that his team had what it took to beat Lamitor High. After practice, Zane said goodbye to his friends and headed towards his Dodge Challenger in the parking lot. He decided to go into town and grab some breakfast since he had an hour and a half before school started. As he was about to open the door to his car, he felt a tap on his right shoulder. When he turned to the figure that tapped him, he was instantly knocked out by a heavy swing to the jaw.

-Zane's POV-

I slowly opened my eyes to the sound of two people arguing, it sounded like a male and a female. My jaw was killing me and I couldn't remember what happened. When my eyes were fully open, I looked around and saw that I was in some kind of locker room. I was laying on a bench and sat up to figure out where I was at. I looked around some more and saw the very thing that told me everything, the Lamitor High Lion mascot head, sitting on a bench across from me. They knocked me out and took me here to prevent me from playing football this year! They're scared that we are going to win so they kidnapped me, the key player, so that they can keep up their legacy! I got up and looked at the male and female students that I heard arguing earlier, obviously a wide receiver and a cheerleader. They went pale after they realized I woke up, the receiver regained control of himself and charged at me.

(Normal POV)

The receiver charged at Zane with his hands out in an attempt to grab his neck. Zane danced to the side gracefully and grabbed the receivers elbow, swinging and slamming him into the lockers. Zane then tipped the lockers over, trapping the receiver under the heavy metal objects. The cheerleader then activated her ability and shot a ball of fire at him. Zane activated his and created a wall of ice to shield him. The flame barely melted the ice and gave him an idea of her power. She was a level 5 and couldn't do very much with her element. Zane trapped her in a cube of ice and made it so she can breathe. The receiver got up and activated his ability as well. He morphed the metal locker into a ball and shot it towards Zane. He barely dodged it and created an suite ice armor. The receiver was a rare sight. Some earth users can also bend metal, but only about 5% was born with the natural talent. Zane then created an ice sword similar to a standard knights sword and slashed at the receiver. The receiver created his own suit of metal armor from the lockers and made a metal war hammer. Zane realized he was at a disadvantage here, the receiver was obviously a level 7 or higher. Zane slashed at him again while dodging the wild swings of the war hammer, but his ice blade would only crack and shatter. He needed something else to penetrate the armor. Zane suddenly had an idea and formed a spear out of ice. As his opponent swung at him, he would drive the spear into the open area that all lockers have. However, the receiver saw this coming and butted the bottom of the handle into Zane's skull. Zane then fell to the floor, he was in too much pain to fight back now, and was at the mercy of that killing war hammer. The opponent raised his deadly weapon, ready to crush his prey. Suddenly, a blizzard of snow rushed into the room slamming the receiver into the wall. Zane wasn't able to see who casted the blizzard, but he did however see what it did. The metal of the armor became super cold and fragile, giving Zane a chance to break through it. Zane created his own war hammer out of thick ice and slammed it into his opponents armor, breaking the armor and the receivers ribs.

Zane: (He's not gonna be playing anytime soon after that hit)

Zane quickly dashed out of the gym before anyone else could attack him. As Zane walked back towards his school, a lot of questions ran through his head. "How far am I going to have to walk?" "Did the school plan this or was it just those students?" "Who casted that blizzard that helped me?"

Zane knew that the answers to his questions would be answered soon, so he just continued walking towards where his gut was telling him to go. The complete opposite direction of the way back to the school...
