Chapter 31: Kids

Author POV

As SooMi and Jimin were talking, they suddenly heard loud cries.

They stopped walking and looked around warily. 

SooMi felt something clinging unto her leg and when she looked down she saw a..... little boy?

"Noona!" The kid said in between his cries

SooMi bent down and picked up the little boy.

The little boy hugged SooMi tightly and continued crying harder. She didn't know what to do so she let him cry on her shoulder while patting his back

A few minutes later..

The kid stopped crying and was just hugging SooMi tightly

"Hello little boy, what's your name?" SooMi asked in a soft voice. The boy looked at her with emotionless eyes 

"Kihyun.." He murmured as he looked up to her once again with gleaming eyes

"Noona let's play!" He said cheerfully as he couldn't hold up his eagerness any longer.

"Sorry Kihyunnie, we'll play later" SooMi didn't know what to do since now wasn't the time to play so she had to say no. Kihyun's lively aura died down and became all sad again.

Seeing this, Jimin couldn't hold it in and tried saving the boy from getting upset

"Don't worry kihyun! Jiminie hyung will play with you!" Jimin said while smiling brightly, even though SooMi knew they shouldn't be doing this right now and instead should be looking for more survivors, she also knew that they couldn't risk the little boy crying loudly again and cause a riot outside with the others and might even scare off the survivors

Kihyun reached out for Jimin as if signalling him he wanted Jimin to carry him. Jimin gladly took the boy from SooMi and started playing with him.

"I'll just look around the place for more survivors. Jimin, keep the child safe and don't let him wander off okay?" SooMi said to Jimin worriedly

"Don't worry, I can still fight if trouble comes" Jimin assured

SooMi nodded and wandered off, leaving the two boys playing.

27 minutes later...

Jimin POV

It has been several minutes since SooMi left, i've been playing with this cute kid for a while until SooMi showed up with two other little girls

"Yumi! Kimi!" Kihyun jumped out of my hands and dashed towards the other kids with SooMi

"Kihyun!" The two girls said happily and hugged Kihyun

Me and SooMi stared at the scene in awe as the three hugged each other happily. The three let go and smiled at us

We both snapped out of our daze as SooMi spoke up

"I've checked all the floors, I haven't found any other survivors apart from these two" SooMi said.

"We've also checked the other areas, so that means these kids are the only survivors left, the rest has probably ran away to the safe zone, or are killed by the monsters" I replied back. I only whispered the last part since there are kids here

I carried the two little girls while SooMi carried Kihyun, we went out the abandoned building and was greeted by the others almost finished cleaning up

We gave them a quick smile before teleporting back to the safe zone

SooMi POV

We got back to the safe zone with the three other kids.

We walked towards one of the tents and entered. The smell of blood and all sorts of medical equipment greeted my senses as I gently placed Kihyun on one of the make shift beds. Jimin did the same and placed the two girls which i'm assuming the names were Yumi and Kimi in the make shift beds too.

I called for my unnies to take care of the kids while we left which they gladly accepted. The children were not badly injured, just a few scratches here and there but nothing serious. Some nurses had to treat their little wounds but overall they're fine

Jimin and I gave our goodbyes and teleported back ton the battle area. The others were already there waiting for us

"So let's discuss our plan..."
