-Day after Jay took his personal day
-He announces his resignation; everyone is shocked
-Voight asks him why he's resigning
-Jay says that while he was watching Wren sleep on the night of Evelyn's funeral he came to the realization that he couldn't justify the risk of staying in Intelligence and having Wren end up and orphan
-He applied to become a sergeant and was granted the promotion
-The Ivory Tower agreed that until he could land a permanent desk sergeant position he could just focus on being a single dad
-Everyone is supportive of Jay's decision
-He packs up his things and says a heartfelt goodbye to everyone
-When he goes downstairs Platt asks why he has all his things in bags and boxes
-Jay explains the decision he's made to her
-Platt tells him that her position is opening up in 3 months as Crowley is retiring and she's being promoted to Commander
-Jay asks if Platt could put in a good word for him to get the job; she agrees
