Keith, Please Open the Door.

"Come on Hunk. It's only for a few months. Last week you where jumping at the chance to get off the island" I tell my bestfriend

"Yeah, that was before you told me we would have to fight the Fire Nation" he says whining

"Don't get me wrong. That's sound super fun and full of cool adventures, but I don't wanna leave my mom" Hunk says sadly

"I don't wanna leave granny either. But they'll have eachother. Don't worry" I smile

"Mmm. I don't know" Hunk still says in denial

"Oh come on. Please" I saw pulling his arm

"Ugh. Ok fine" he says prying me off his arm

"Yes. I'll go tell Keith" I say jumping up and walking away

"Keith?" Hunk asks

"Yeah. He really wanted you to come" I say turning around and smiling at my friend

Hunk smiles lightly.

"Hey Keith" I say walking into his room

He's in the corner of his room with his knees up and arms around them.

"Hey. What's wrong" I say walking over to him

He looks up.

"Oh um nothing. Just thinking" he says standing up

"About" I ask

"Not important. So why did you come in my room" he asks changing the subject

I want to know what's up. But I won't pry it out of him.

"Oh right. Hunk is coming with us to the Earth Kingdom"

"Oh really that's nice" he says in a monotone voice

"Just an hour ago you were really sad that he wasn't coming, now you don't even have any emotion" I say my smile falling off my face

"Oh I'm sorry. There's just a lot on my mind" he says walking out of his room

"Keith" I say grabbing his arm "You know you can talk to me right. We might not have known each other for a long time, but I'm here for you. Hunk and granny too" I say looking at him

He avoided eye contact.

"Yeah I know" he says pulling his arm from my grasp and walks into the bathroom slamming the door

"Hey what's going on" Granny says coming up the stairs

"Nothing" I say turning around and going into my room

I close the door and sit down. I really like Keith, and I know it's hard for him to trust people, but I really care. If he doesn't tell me what's up soon I don't know what I'll do.

He seems so down now. When we first met him he told us so much about himself. But now, he's not saying a word.

~Time skip to the next day~

It's, I think, 8am right now and we're outside showing Keith some more skills with water bending. We've been out here for 3 hours and Keith just keeps getting mad at us.

"Ok Keith, just try to focus" Hunk says to him

"I am" he says with annoyance in his voice

"Breath in through your nose and out-"

"-I got it. Thanks" he says, eyes twitching

"And try to not think about anything"

"ALRIGHT. THATS IT. IM DONE" Keith screams walking back into the house

"Oh boy" Granny sighs

She nudged me.

"What" I say looking down at her

"Go talk to him" she says sternly

"Me. Why me. He definitely doesn't want to talk to me right now. He's probably still mad at me for what happened yesterday" I say crossing my arms

"What happened yesterday" Hunk says confused

"Nothing, fine I'll do it" I say changing the subject and walking inside

"Keith" I call looking all throughout the house

No sign of him. Where did he go?

I walk up the stairs and see all the doors open except one. The bathroom. I walk towards the door and knock.

"Keith, I know you're in there" I say quietly

"Leave me alone" he says shakily

He's crying.

"Keith please let me in. I just want to talk to you"

"Everybody wants to just talk. Why can't you help me" he says barley above a whisper

"Help you with what Keith" I say putting my forehead on the door

"About-about my" he stops

Then I hear a thud.

"Keith?" no answer

"Keith?" I say louder

"KEITH?!" I scream

Why won't he answer me? Is he okay? Should I go downstairs and get granny? That's when I realized. Granny. This is her bathroom. It has pills, needles and other medical equipment.

Is he gonna use any of it?

"GRANNY!" I yell running down the stairs

"Lance did you talk to Keith?" granny says calmly

"Keith's in the bathroom and he won't come out" I say in a panic

"Maybe he just needs to cool off" granny smiles

"Your bathroom"

Her face dropped.

"I don't see what's wrong here Lance"

"That's the same bathroom Daniel killed him self in" I say on the verge of panicking

"Oh sweetie, Daniel was sick. Very sick. I'm sure Keith won't do that just from not understanding how to water bend" Granny says walking to me and giving me a hug

Daniel was my oldest brother. About 14 years older than me. He had problems, we tried to help him. But in the end we failed.

Granny went up the stairs and towards her bathroom.

"Keith, please open the door" granny says knocking on the door softly

Hunk and I looked at each other.

"We can't fail Keith" I say quietly
