Chapter Three - My Element

Mia was talking to Lilly about school; my uncle was asking the King about an upcoming event, the twins were playing with their food making airplane noises before crashing it into their mouths, Isaac was talking to my teacher about tips for control and Rose was texting someone on her phone under the table. I was observing all of this with a smile on my face. Just last week I was chained up on a wall but now I'm sitting eating dinner with what has become my new family.

"So Alisa, the King told us about your 4 elements. We all are so happy for you, you deserved this and much more. You truly are special my Alisa" he said proudly, happiness clear in his voice. 

"Thank you" was all I could say before my throat closed up with emotion, blinking the tears back. It reminded me of my dad when I did my best at everything to just get him to smile and be proud of me.

"That is so cool! I am so happy! Just wait till you go to school, you are going to be a celebrity" Isaac burst out not being able to hold it in him any longer. 

Laughing lightly at his sudden outburst I smiled at him, I don't really want to be the center of attention of everyone.

"Indeed she will be a celebrity" he nodded his head to Isaac as he continued, "But Alisa you will have to manage to keep your head above the water or you may just drown" the King said as if he knew something was going to happen in the future that would affect me so much I would feel like I was drowning.

With the Kings words everyone went silent, lost in their thoughts. A few minutes past when Lilly let out a smile, Mia nudged my uncle in a playful way and my uncle just shook his head as if not believing it. It was obvious that the King must have said something through the mind link about what he had just said that caused this.

As dinner finished and desert was served the adults took their in to the living room while I grabbed mine and went to the garden, followed by Isaac and Rose.

Sitting down onto the bench I crossed my legs and began eating my ice cream. I nearly let out a moan at how nice it tasted after so many years I guess everything tastes nice. 

Lilly sat down next to me while Isaac leaned on the old tree next to the bench.

"So I have a question" Rose said, nodding at her to continue as I finished off my ice cream. Alisa come in here and get some more food! You need to put some meat on them boned before I can send you of anywhere! I heard Lilly say though the mind link. Smiling at the thought of her thinking of me I turned to Isaac and tried to look as innocent as possible "Isaac can you please get me some more ice cream, please?" I asked looking up at him using my puppy eyes.

Groaning he stood up straight and headed to the back door mutter something that sounded like "How can anyone say no to them eyes?", turning back to Rose I waited for the question she was going to ask.

"So as I was saying, you know about the whole soul mate thing right?" she asked first looking a bit nervous, nodding my head she continued, "Well I think I found him" she whispers looking at me in the eyes I could see she already loved whoever this boy was. 

"I mean the whole soul mate thing kicks in when the two benders are of age and since I just turned sixteen last week I found him straight away, his one of the boys in our group Ally! I've known him since the start of high school and I don't know, he's kind of a player you know and I'm scared really scared" she said all this in a rush as if trying to get everything out at once.

"Does he know?" I asked her, pulling her to me for a side hug; she laid her head on my boney shoulder like we did when we were small. Nodding her head she let out a sigh, "He got kind of awkward at first but last night he sneaked into my room and kind of confessed?" she said it like it was a question. 

"What do you mean?" I asked her, kind of puzzled.

"He said he had liked me for a long time now and me ending up as his soul mate was a shock to him, he said he was sorry about his past and promised he would never do or even think about it again. He asked me to be his girlfriend Ally and all I did was start crying, what if he does end up sleeping with another girl like he did before he found out I was his soul mate? What if he breaks my heart like he has to other girls? I'm scared Ally" she said again in a whisper.

My heart crumbled at the sight of her face, she was near to tears. Rose was a sister to me I would do anything for her. Hugging her tighter I ran my hands along her arms trying to sooth her aching heart. Thinking back to Ash and how reacted when I asked him about his girl and thinking of the times I caught he mum and dad looking at each other I knew straight away that there would be no problem with Rose and this boy but just to make sure when I start school I would have to talk to him. 

Saying my thought to Rose she visibly relaxed and was back to her old self, always happy. Just then Isaac came back with a bowl full if ice cream!

Snatching it off him and saying quick thanks I began to dig into it. 

"So I was telling Ally about the group" Rose told Isaac trying to be cool about it. Thinking about it now I was actually kind of scared to go into a place that held so many people into, especially boys. Isaac must have seen the look on my face as he rushed next to me, crouching down to eye level he said, "Ally look at me. My friends will not do anything to you, no one will, do you understand? I will let no one harm you! Plus you will like the guys and girls of the group, most of them have found their soul mates" he said the last bit as if that was all I needed to know.

"There is Chris and his soul mate London, Matthew and his soul mate that I don't know about yet he was going to come over yesterday but didn't" when he said that I knew straight away that Matthew was the soul mate Rose was talking about, one look at her conformed my thoughts. 

"Then there's Ryder, me and Rose left on our own" Isaac carried on oblivious of mine and Rose's exchange. 

It was a few hours later and we were still sitting outside in the warm weather, my internal clock said it was around ten' o'clock. We were talking about our elements; Isaac's was speed-super speed. Rose had electricity, she could like, zap things into dust, it was way cool. When it came to me they looked at me expectantly, waiting for me to show them.

"Well you know I have the four elements, fire, water, wind and earth" I said with a shrug. Isaac gave me a look that read 'are you stupid or what?', looking at Rose she just looked excited. 

"We know that Ally, we want to see it!" Isaac exclaimed at last. Smiling slightly, the thought of my elements made me happy. 

Thinking about how to show them, I called them to come again in balls around me.

"These are my four elements" I said in a calm voice, "and this is what they do" I said with a smirk on my face. With that said I controlled the wind to go behind Isaac as he was still standing and knocked him down onto the chair behind him made out of rock for earth, I controlled the fire to make a ring around us for a few seconds before I made it rain. All this happened in a space of ten seconds.

Behind me came a low whistle, "Now that is what I am talking about" turning around I saw everyone outside looking at me in awe, blushing slightly at the attention and compliment Max came over and high fived me.

"Wow" was all Isaac and Rose could say.

The night ended with everyone making promises to come back before school starts to have another dinner.
