It drove me crazy having so many thoughts running through my head but when I saw Joey’s car pull up in front of my building I tried to swallow my fears and have an optimistic view on tonight.
I locked my door behind me and scurried over to his car holding my small black jacket over myself. I opened the door sliding inside.
“Hello again,” Joey said cheerfully.
“Hi, how are you?” I asked shutting the door and putting my seat belt on.
“I’m purdy good and how are you this fine evening?” he asked. I looked over at him as he turned back onto the road. I must admit he looked rather fancy tonight. I guess my dress wasn’t over doing it. He had on a really handsome outfit. Tight brown pants hugged his legs a white button up shirt with a grey jacket over it.
“I’m good thanks,” I said and I couldn’t help but giggle when my eyes noticed his bow tie. “Are you wearing a bow tie?” I asked still giggling. He raised his eyes brow at me.
“Don’t be making fun of my bow tie,” he warned playfully. “It’s beautiful, b-e-a-utiful,” he explained.
“Very, you’re so pretty,” I teased and he laughed a bit.
“I’m not the only one, look at you, that’s a beautiful dress,” he commented. I chuckled a bit looking down.
“Thanks, so where exactly are we going?” I asked curiously.
“This night club down town it’s going to just be a few of us cause some people canceled but it’ll be fun, my friends are great you’ll like them,” he assured me. I nodded my head.
“It’s been awhile since I’ve gone out like this, do you do it often?” I asked curiously.
“Not really, once in awhile. I’m not a big drinker. I don’t really like the feeling of being drunk you know,” he explained. I nodded my head
“I’m the same, I’m the type of person that likes to be lazy and watch movies or something simple,” I explained. He nodded his head.
“I like that too, I love being lazy and watching anime,” he explained. I chuckled a bit.
“Yea apparently, you have a lot of vlog where you’re like, hey what’s up guys I’m just watching this really awesome anime,” I teased and he laughed a bit.
“I really don’t do much with my life what do you want from me,” he joked. I laughed a bit.
“You know we actually have a few things in common, you always share your interests in your videos and we share a few,” I explained.
“Oh yea like what?” he asked.
“Totoro for one,” I stated with a smile. Joey looked back at me with a wide grin.
“I knew I had a good hunch about you,” he stated. I laughed a bit. “What else?” he asked curiously.
“Um Pokemon, I loved it growing up, um the hunger games is my all time favorite book series and one of my favorite tv shows is dexter,” I explained. Joey looked at me with wide eyes.
“Shoot girl we’re like twinsies,” he said excitedly. I laughed a bit shaking my head. “Oh my god we should have a movie night one day, we can watch Totorno and Spirited Away and all that fun stuff,” he suggested.
“Definitely. I’m down as long as we do it at your place and I get to cuddle Hitch,” I counter offered. He laughed a bit.
“You’d rather cuddle that fluff ball over me?” he asked sounding offended.
“Well duh,” I said sarcastically with a smirk.
“Well never have I ever heard such nonsense,” he said in a silly accent. I smiled.
“Aw don’t worry Joey you can cuddle too if you want,” I teased playfully.
“Good, I like snuggles too,” he defended and I laughed again. He had such an interesting personality.
The peace and comfort I felt with Joey quickly left when we arrive at the building. I felt so nervous as I exited his car and hugged myself tightly. Joey pulled out his phone and confirmed his friends were already here and waiting at a table inside of us. I nodded slowly sticking close to him as we entered the loud crowded club.
Joey’s hand found mine as he glanced down at me with an reassuring smile. He pulled me along keeping me as close as he could as we walked through the sea of people. We walked up some stairs and were soon back outside on what seemed like the roof of the building, or at least some sort of terrace near the top.
Joey quickly led me over to a small group of people sitting on a sofa off to the side away from the crowd of people dancing and drinking.
They all cheered once seeing him and hugged and greeted each other. I stood off to the side letting them have their little reunion. Eventually a pretty brunet that I recognized from a few of Joey’s videos turned to me.
“Are you Jen?” she asked leaning closer to talk so I could hear her over the music.
“Yea, hi,” I said putting out my hand politely.
“Hey its’ good to meet you, I’m Kat” she said and shook my hand back.
“Guys, this is the girl Joey mentioned,” Kat said turning to the other. They all smiled at me introducing me and shaking me hand politely. I looked over at Joey widening my eyes with a deep breath. This was more than I was used to and a little intimidating. Joey gave me a sweet smile before motioning me to sit down.
It was crazy going from being a loner to being at a club with a bunch of people who appear to be friendly enough to want to be friends with me.
They all started talking and catching up and every now and then they would look at me and ask me a question and I’d politely respond. Drinks were soon passed around and I sipped and mine slowly not wanting to get drunk in case I had to find my way home.
Kat eventually took my hands in hers pulling me to my feet.
“Come Jen we’re going to dance a bit, it’s a great stress reliever,” she said enthusiastically. I shrugged with a smile nodding my head at her and stood up. I looked back at Joey quickly and he gave me a thumbs up which I returned then walk with Kat and the other girls to the dance floor leaving Joey with the guys
