“I spy my little eye on something quite yummy,” he stated with a grin. I laughed slightly.
“And what might that be?”I asked.
“Greek Salad,” he stated. I nodded my head looking over at the salad section. They did have nice looking Caesar salads. After we ordered our food I sat nervous with my hands between my legs.
“So um I haven’t properly thanked you for your donation. You have no idea how much I appreciate it,” he started off. I gave him a polite smile and a nod.
“No problem, you know, my pleasure. I look forward to actually seeing the episodes, when do you start filming?” I asked curiously.
“In about a week, we’re making the final revisions on the script getting the details with the actors straightened out and yea, should be fun,” he explained. I gave him a small smile nodding again.
“It’s great you actually get to do something like this, you must feel proud,” I commented. He nodded giving me a smile back.
“It’s like a dream to be honest, I’m really happy. I just can’t wait to start working on it for real you know,” he said. I nodded smiling again. “I’m sure you know enough about me, tell me about you,” he offered. I shrugged leaning back a bit.
“Not really much to tell,” I said shyly.
“Well start with what you do for a living,” he offered.
“Not a lot right now to be honest. In a way I’m sort of on vacation,” I explained. Joey gave me a curios look.
“You don’t live in LA?” he asked.
“Not permanently, technically I’m not aloud. I’m Canadian,” I explained. Joey’s green eyes opened a little wider in what I could only assume were surprise.
“Canada? Seriously?” he asked. I nodded my head. “Well what are you doing down here?” he asked quickly after.
“Just a getaway. I sorta came into some extra money. I have a small place here that I like to come to during the winter season back home,” I explained.
“Wow, that’s a cool idea. I’d probably buy a small place in Canada if I could. Would be nice to see snow on occasion,” he said with a grin on his face. I smiled with a small chuckle.
“Trust me there’s no snow shortage in Canada, especially Montreal where I lived, snow storms every other week,” I explained shaking my head shivering at the thought of the mile high snow storms we’d get some days. Joey laughed a bit.
“Oh my god are you serious? That’s cray cray,” he stated in a more chipper tone. I smiled a bit with a nod. “So what else is there to know about you?” Joey asked curiously leaning his arms on the table looking more interested in me than when we first walked in. I eyed him for a moment. Sure there’s plenty I could say, but nothing that I want to say. It’s better if I kept things simple, he doesn’t need to know my sob story, especially the one about how I got all the money to donate. “You okay?” he asked and I realised I hadn’t responded and my face wasn’t exactly smiling as I was looking at him.
I nodded blinking a few times and forced a cheerful smile.
“Yea um sorry, uh something else about me, oh I play guitar and sing,” I offered. Joey widened his eyes a bit.
“Oh do you?” he asked. I nodded with a shrug.
“Yea, just a hobby of mine,” I explained.
“Sing me something,” he said enthusiastically. I let out a small laugh quickly shaking my head.
“Uh no,” I stated leaning back shyly.
“Aw come on, I’ll sing if you sing,” he offered but I still shook my head.
“Not a chance,” I said and laughed again. He rolled his eyes with a smile.
“Come on just break out into one direction or something. Baby you light up my world like nobody else the way that you flip your hair gets me over whelmed but when you smile at the ground it ain’t hard to tell,” he sang and I covered my face as I looked around. So many people had started looking at us.
“You know people are staring at you like you’re a weirdo,” I stated with a chuckle.
“So what you can’t go through life caring what people think of you,” he pointed out.
“I guess you have a point but I’m still not singing in a restaurant,” I pointed back out at him. He sighed shaking his head.
“Girl you need to learn to live a little bit,” he said and I chuckled again.
“I think you’re living enough for the both of us,” I joked. He shook his head again with a small chuckle.
“I’m getting you to sing for me one way or another,” he stated. I gave him a ‘yea sure’ look .
“I’m sure you will,” I said sarcastically but deep down I was like, not a chance.
