Hazel began with holding my hands and concentrating. After a few moments, she said "I'm going to need you to let me into your mind so that I can clear away the tarnished memories that the arai gave you."

I took a deep breath and obliged. She held my hands a little bit tighter this time. I could feel her divulge into my mind. I watched everyone die again; I saw my friends again; I felt the pain again. Hazel let go of my hands and shot backwards in shock. Her eyes held a wild expression. Annabeth and Piper had managed to grab her so that she didn't fall off of my bed.

"What did you see?" Thalia asked. "I-I-I saw —" Hazel started, but she couldn't find the words, and so, I said "She saw what I've been seeing and felt what I've been feeling."

Hazel gasped lightly and said "You have been suffering through that this whole time?!" I nodded, and was then encompassed in Hazel's loving embrace. "I am so sorry. I wish I tried this sooner." She exclaimed.

I took a deep breath and squeezed my eyes shut. After a moment or two of this, Hazel wiped away her tears, sat back, and said "Okay, well, what I want to do is too low maintenance. You need something more."

"What do you mean by 'more'?" Samirah asked. "I need to make her forget everything." Hazel said. "What do you mean by everything?" Reyna asked. Hazel looked at her and said. "Everything."

I laughed and said "Chances of that happening! Right before a major battle? Okay, yea, right. What are you thinking?!" Hazel proceeded with "It's either that or nothing at all." Without a moment's pause, I said "Then I would rather suffer."

Hazel looked to the others for their opinions, and they agreed with me. She sighed and said "I just - I can't imagine having to see that and feel that all the time."

"It comes and goes. It's not as bad as it seems." I said. Hazel nodded and after a moment's pause, she said "Maybe I can try one other thing."

"And what's that?" I asked. Hazel proceeded with "I can try to change those memories for the better." Piper then asked "How would you do that?" Hazel paused and looked at me. She then proceeded with "I can go into her mind and twist the memories. I can make the arai appear good and make the pain, well, not hurt."

Everyone had to ponder this. I don't know if that would be too risky. "But what if she is faced with another arai and kills it and another variation of pain comes back?" Annabeth asked. "There won't be any today." Hazel stated. "But how do you know for certain?" I asked. She didn't have an answer.

"It's your call. You haven't had any visions or anything lately, right?" Hazel asked. I nodded in agreement. "I'm sure that it will all be fine, then." She said.

Piper then said "What if I charmspeak her to forget?" I looked at her and said "Wouldn't that be the same thing?"

She continued with "No, I wouldn't make you forget that an arai's death provides a curse, I would just make you forget the pain that the last one gave." Once again, everyone pondered this over. "It's worth a shot." Thalia said.

I looked at Piper and said "Go ahead." She nodded and said "Gaea, you will forget that the arai's curse hurt you so much. You will forget the torment she caused. You will forget the pain that she brought you. You will remember that killing an arai leaves you with a curse, but this curse that you are suffering from will no longer harm you."

I closed my eyes and watched as all of those horrific memories were wiped away. I watched as they disappeared into thin air. I then opened my eyes to see everyone looking at me, waiting for a response. "Did it work?" Piper asked. I nodded with a light smile on my face. I held her hand and said "Thank you." Piper smiled in return as a 'you're welcome'.

A knock sounded at the door. "Come in." I said after I let go of Piper's hand. It was Jason, and he said "We will be there in five, you girls should get ready." We all nodded and everyone dispersed. I put on my leather jacket and a pair of sneakers. I put my hair in a french braid and unsheathed my sword. I made my battle armor appear on me, and walked into the training room and began to sharpen my sword.

While doing this, I heard a set of footsteps coming towards the room. They stopped near the doorway. I looked up and saw Frank standing there. "You ready?" He asked. I nodded and said "Are you?" He nodded and sat in the chair across from me.

"Is there anything else that I should know about Norse creatures?" He asked. "Nope, I pretty much covered everything." I concluded. I went back to sharpening my sword. "Have you ever done anything like this?" He asked. I paused and looked up at him. He was hoping that I had because I was about to lead them all into battle. "No, I haven't. Not like this." I answered. It is better to be honest than dead.

He nodded and said "Well I'm sure that it will all still go well." I nodded as well, and I transformed my sword back into a bracelet.

"Is everyone ready upstairs?" I asked. Frank then said "I think so." I nodded and we both processed upstairs and met everyone besides Leo, for he was in the control room.

"Is everyone ready?" I asked. Everyone nodded. I figured that now was as good a time as any to give the typical motivational speech, and so, I said "We can do this. If everything goes according to the plan, and even if it doesn't, everything will be alright. Some of us might get hurt, some of us might even die, but if we band together, if we are in this together, then nothing can stop us. No one will die in vain - no one will die, period. We are a team. Sure, we come from different backgrounds with different stories, but that doesn't make us different. It makes us the same. It makes us a family. So I say, that we get out there, and we fight like a family."

It seemed to work, for I could feel the energy in the room rise, the spirits lift. We all turned to face the island, and we embarked on our journey.
