Sitting In A Tree

Magnus took Piper's seat as she moved next to Jason. "So?" Percy asked. And so, I explained what happened in there. When I got to the part of GranG revealing that she was Gaea, well, you could only imagine the amount of yelling. "Did some of my blood drop?" Annabeth asked. I shook my head no, and so, Piper asked "Then, how did she wake up?" I then replied with "Well, it turns out that the blood of any family that contains both Greek and Norse blood, even Roman or Egyptian, is capable enough to awaken her."

"But none of us are related besides them." Jason said. "I know, but, I'm my own family." I said, showing regret in my eyes. "I don't understand." Leo said. "While on this quest, my parent's identity was revealed to me." I said. "Who are they?" Percy asked. "My mother is the Greek goddess of lighting, Astrape." I said slowly. "You're Greek?" Blitzen asked. I nodded and then said "But, my dad is Norse."

"What do you mean?" Annabeth asked. "My father," I paused. I didn't want to tell Magnus that I was his half-sister, but I had to. "My father is Frey." I said. Magnus's eyes bulged out of his head. Everyone was shocked. "You're my half-sister?" Magnus asked. I nodded and said "That's right. Apparently, I'm also a goddess."

"So, when Thor made you immortal, you were already immortal?" Annabeth asked. "Yeah, I think that he sort of chose the age that I would stay." I answered. "Wait, if you're a child of Frey, don't you have healing powers and resistance to fire and ice?" Magnus asked. "I don't have healing powers, but I have power over fire and ice." I said. "You mean like how Leo has power over fire?" Annabeth asked. I nodded. "I also have power over water, wind, and earth." I continued.

Before they could ask, I said "Gaea found me on the doorsteps of the adoption agency and cared for me until I was taken. When I was two, she blessed me with powers over her domain. When I was around seven, Ran blessed me with powers over water out of pity."

"So you're like the avatar?" Leo asked. I responded with a smirk, saying "Sort of, I guess."

"Did you know that you had powers over all of these things?" Blitzen asked. I paused, but then nodded. I then explained myself by saying "I didn't want to say anything because the gods already had problems with me about my powers over lightning, never mind anything else."

"If Gaea cared for you, then why did she hurt you?" Piper asked. I then proceeded to explain what else happened inside the boutique. Once I finished, Percy chuckled and said "Like Hades we'll forgive her."

"That's what I said." I replied. Magnus placed his hands over my wrist and they began to glow. Soon, my wrist was healed, though it was still sore. "Thanks." I said as I unwrapped my wrist. He nodded. "Since she hurt you, do you think that she'll come back and do it again?" Jason asked. "I don't know." I said. "We'll be in Africa by tomorrow morning. We should all get some sleep." Leo said. "Who wants to take first watch?" Annabeth asked. "I will." I said.

"I'll take second." Magnus said. I looked at him, and he nodded slightly, indicating that he wanted to talk. Once everyone said goodnight and went off to bed, Leo shows Magnus and I the alarm that we were to press if danger arose. "Thank you, Leo." I said. "For what?" He asked. "Everything." Magnus said. Leo smiled lightly, nodded, and headed to bed. Magnus and I stood side by side, our hands resting delicately next to each other on the railing. Wind swept past our ears as we watched the clouds below us drift away and separate. "How long have you known about Frey?" He asked.

I took a moment to ponder the thought. "Maybe two days." I responded. We stood in silence for another moment. I looked beyond and saw the moon's reflection on the grey clouds. I looked to the sky and saw the stars and all of their beauty. What I didn't notice, though, was Magnus's hand gradually inching closer to mine until my hand was locked in his delicate grasp. I looked up into his eyes. He looked into mine with sadness. "What's wrong?" I asked as I tried to read his broken eyes. "Ever since I met you, I've felt something. I didn't know what it was. I thought that maybe it was just a feeling of friendship, maybe just a sibling bond, but now..." He said, but he seemed to be at a loss of words.

"When you told me that we were siblings, something inside me broke. I realized that I wouldn't be able to-" he started. He paused, but then continued by saying "I realized that I wouldn't be able to kiss you, or think of you as anything more, because now...well, now I feel like that feeling was more." He finished speaking and broke my gaze. I stared at the ground in shock. "You saying that broke me more than Sigyn ever could." He said again, quietly. I looked up at him only to see his eyes locked on the impending cumulus clouds.

"Magnus...I-" I started, but I was cut off by Magnus planting his lips onto mine. He held my back with one hand and held his other hand upon my cheek. I was too shocked to move. I guess that we really were sitting in a tree. He pulled away and didn't look me in the eyes. My heart still fluttered and the butterflies in my stomach turned into a swarm of bees, stinging my heart at the thought of how crazy that was. He kissed me. He's my half-brother. What is happening? Do I love him? Have I been hiding my feelings all of these years? In order to figure it all out, I did something even stupider. I pulled him close and kissed him again.
