Emerson's POV:

I fixed Marlowe's plate as she sat in front of the TV. I walked over to her and put the plate down. "Thank you." She signed before eating. I went back into the kitchen and fixed her lunch before putting it in her lunchbox. Once she finished, I helped her get dressed. She was wearing a white tshirt with roses on it, a pair of denim shorts, and black TOMS. I brushed her hair and braided it. "You look so pretty." I signed and she smiled brightly. "Thanks." She signed back.

I handed her a "First Day of Kindergarten" sign and showed her where to stand. She smiled as I took her picture. I looked at the picture and stood up. "Let's get going." I signed to her and she nodded, grabbing her bookbag. I helped her get into the car as we drove to her school.

I helped Marlowe get out of the car and we looked at her new school. Other parents and children were walking in, looking super excited. I looked down at her as she rubbed her fingers on the strap of her bookbag. I grabbed her hand and she looked at me as I squeezed it. She smiled slightly as we walked inside.

I took her inside her classroom as several other children and their parents were saying their last goodbyes. "Hello Marlowe?" Her teacher, Ms. Michaels, signed to her. "Hi." Marlowe signed back, standing behind me. "Hey Ms. Hull." Her teacher smiled at me. She looked around my age with long blonde hair and light blue eyes. "You can call me Emerson. Marlowe's really nervous." I looked at her as she tightly held the hem of my shirt. "It's going to be very fun. Don't worry." She signed to Marlowe. I looked at her and she looked at everything. "Do you like dolls?" Marlowe nodded. "We have some. Come play." She held out her hand and Marlowe grabbed it as they walked away.
