Chapter 14: My Best Friend

KAYLA

"T-Teresa?" My whole body froze.

She probably didn't recognise me at first because she didn't seem to do anything.

"Oh my god!" Teresa ran and hugged me tightly.

"I thought I'd never see you again!" A tear drops from my eye.

I let go of our embrace.

"I can't believe it." Teresa smiles with tears streaming down her eyes.

"I thought you were dead! The day when this happened I didn't know where to go, I'm sorry I didn't come back for you." she said.

I laughed.

"That was two years ago. I'm fine now." I smiled with tears.

Teresa takes a look at our group.

"Is this your group?" she asked.

"Half of it." I smile.

"I'm Zach." Zach shakes Teresa's hand with his warm smile.

"Alice." said Alice shaking Teresa's hand.

Taylor stood there with her arms crossed.

"And this is Taylor." I said pointing my hand at Taylor.

"Ugh, nice to meet you." Taylor rolled her eyes and shook Teresa's hand.

Teresa gives me an odd look and nearly laughed.

"I'm Teresa. Kayla's bestfriend."

"Oh man, I thought I was your bestfriend Kayla." said Zach jokingly.

Teresa laughed.

"Awh is Zach jealous?" said Alice punching his shoulder which probably hurt him because
he flinched.

"What? N-"

"Let's keep going, we still need to find clothes." said Taylor.

I smile at Zach who winked at me and walked with Alice.

"Is he your boyfriend?" asked Teresa.

"Uh, no. Why does everyone keep saying that." I giggled.

"Uhuh, I don't believe you." Teresa playfully hits me in the stomach.

"Hey! You guys coming?" shouted Taylor from far.

"C'mon, you don't wanna be left behind now do you?" I said.

"Hold on let me grab my backpack."

Teresa ran behind the stall and grabbed her bag.

"Let's go."

During our walk, me and Teresa walked behind Zach and Alice and talk about what happened the past two years.

"I found a group, and a safe place but it was taken over by this other huge group called Denville." she said.

"Denville? They're the ones that kidnapped me and Zach." I said shaking my head.

"Some group that is." she said.

It was quiet for a couple of seconds until Teresa asked me a question I didn't want to answer.

"Hey Kayla."

"Yeah?"

"What happened to Tyra?"

Again, it was silent.

"I've been with her for the past two years until a couple days ago." I said quietly.

Teresa kept quiet.
