Never be Like You- Flume feat: Kai

"Now I'm fucked up, and I'm missin you."

---

White noise was claiming my brain, overtaking any thoughts that were clouding my mind before Jake. His lips. His glorious lips. Those lips that I haven't forgotten, and will never be forgotten even when my lips will forget the feel. My mind will not. The way he grazed his own lips on mine. The way he bit mine.

His tongue...

Dawn shut the fuck up! You just insulted your mom, and she's gone and left you alone. I couldn't believe I said anything to mom about dad. My words spoke the ugly truth, but how can I even utter those words when we've all been through so much together as a family? Yes, it was the worse of, the worse, but we some how survived. Or maybe we haven't, and we're still battling.

I felt alone. I am alone. I usually was left in this big empty house. Dad's gone for weeks on end to open up businesses across the country. My mom works shifts being a stay at home nurse for the old. I knew they both couldn't stand the sight of each other. I knew I couldn't stand the sight of my dad, but he was still my dad.

I couldn't believe my mom would say anything about my dream to Jake, so I just said the first thing that was heating up in my head to hurt her.

I had to get out of the house, so I found myself calling Alice to pick me up to get to Dawson's get together.

"Hey, Dawny Dawn! What's up?" Her voice is as cheerful as ever.

Two words got her up and to her car towards my house. "Dawson's party."

"Now we're talking."

And here we were in front of the lit up house; it was worse last time. Dawson spoke the truth about how small it was, yet I saw a lot of cars still in the driveway. We both knock on his door awaiting for someone to open it.

Dawson comes out with his football jersey. "Hey hotties!" He shrieks. He hugs Alice quickly, and I find myself under his stare. "I'm glad you showed up." He hugs me to him.

I feel quite awkward as I've only ever hugged two people other than my family. Lauren and Alice. I wrap my arms around him hesitantly and let go immediately afterward, but he seems to want to hug me longer.

"Dawson?"

"Hm."

"Can you let me go." I pause trying to look for Alice for help, but she was nowhere to be found. I was becoming anxious by the second. "Like now!" I click my thumb to my middle finger, 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.

"Sorry." He pulls away, but his hands were still on my forearms. "Just so happy you made it. The game starts at 8, but all the team players got to be there at 7. So we'll hang here for a couple of hours and head to the game."

"Okay..." There's an uncomfortable silence that I can't make use. He just keeps smiling at me weirdly. "I'm going to get a drink." I walk away from him and try to find the disappearing Alice instead of the drinks.

"Dawn!" I hear someone behind me. I'm surprised I know more than two people here. When I turn around, I see Reese who is in my English class. She had pretty nice curly hair. Her skin was golden. She was a mixed beauty. "Hey! I liked your response in English."

You are talking about school at a party. Wow, she was worse than me. Shut up, Dawn! You are not one to judge on socializing. "Thanks." I smiled at her. "I thought your thoughts were great too."
