Thirty Fifth

Dani probably got tired of crying as she falls asleep.  James wanted to bring her to her room but he remember rule No. 4 To respect each other’s space. Nobody goes into her bedroom without her permission.  Instead he just laid her on the couch so she could comfortably rest.

He blames himself for making Dani cried so hard which crashes his heart as well.  He should have waited, he repeatedly told himself. He has an early call time for the next day and it is already passing midnight.  But he choose to stay because he could not leave her this broken. It was his fault why she is this sad and he hates himself for making her cry.

The next day Dani wokes up with the noise in her kitchen.  Someone is using her kitchen, when she opened her eyes, she realized that she is not in her room, after a while she remember what happened the previous night. “Good morning” she exclaimed. “Good morning my bibi girl, go fix yourself first, I am almost done” James replied.

“You are supposed to leave for Batangas before six in the morning, what are you doing here?” Dani asked

“I want to cook breakfast for you. Nakatulog ka ba mabuti. I want to bring you in your room,  kaya lang baka mapagalitan mo ako kaya binantayan na lang kita dyan sa couch” James calmly replied

"Wag mong ibahin ang usapan James Esteban, bakit nandito ka pa, kanina ka pa dapat nagbyahe papuntang Batangas"  Dani said

“Don’t worry nakatawag na ako kay Tita Girlie, sabi ko masama pakiramdam mo, so I’ll make sure that you’re alright before I leave.  Also, I called up Matthew, I said the same, you are not feeling well so you are taking a day off.” he said

“What? Why did you do that” Dani irritably said and quickly took her phone to call Matthew “Makakahabol pa ako, I’ll tell him that I will be late” she said

“Bibi girl, stop being stubborn.  I told you to fix yourself first so you would see how puffy your eyes are” James explained. Dani rushed to her room to freshen up and check how swollen her eyes are. After almost ten minutes she went to the kitchen where an oriental breakfast was served.

“Kaya pala ang bigat ng mga mata ko” Dani said and sat on the kitchen stool. James served her coffee plus a ham and cheese omelette. “Thank you” she said“Bakit nga nandito ka pa, baka matraffic ka papuntang Batangas” she asked

“Paulit ulit naman bibi girl.  Are you sure you’ll be fine here?” James worriedly said.  “I can cancel my taping”he said

“Ano idadahilan mo? May sakit ako? Subukan mo lang gawin yan, lagot ka sa akin" She threatens him.

"Don’t do that James, please wag mong pabayaan ang trabaho mo dahil sa akin. Halika na saluhan mo na ako sa breakfast para makapag prepare ka na papuntang taping” she said

“I’m just worried about you” he said

“I’m a big girl now, I can take care of myself” she said “Atsaka malapit ka lang naman bibi boy, Batangas lang, malay mo bigla akong sumulpot sa taping mo” she added

“Seryoso ka ba? Gusto mo sama ka sa taping ko?” James asked excitedly

“Nasaan ang ‘keep the relationship secret’ dyan sa gusto mong mangyari?”Dani asked

“Sino ba ang nag-umpisang magsabi na gusto mong sumama Batangas?” James said

“Hoy, selective listening ka Mr. Esteban. Ang sabi ko, malay mo bigla akong sumulpot sa taping mo sa Batangas. Wala kong sinabing gusto kong sumama sa Batangas, magkaiba yun” she said
