"Scorpius? Where's the lamp we bought to go in our room?" Rose called from the upstairs part of the flat they had bought together.
"It should be in one of the bigger boxes in the living room labeled "Bedroom"," Scorpius called from the foyer.
Rose ran down the stairs and into the living room, kissing Scorpius as she passed. She grabbed the lamp and ran back up the stairs.
"Be careful on those stairs!" Scorpius called after Rose.
She rolled her eyes and went into the bedroom. She placed the lamp on the bedside table and plugged it in. Scorpius snuck in while she had her back turned and grabbed her around the waist. She screamed and wriggled free of his grasp. He laughed and kissed her quickly as she turned to face him.
"Scorpius Malfoy!" Rose exclaimed, hands on her hips.
He smiled. She rolled her eyes and turned back around to straighten the mattress in the bed frame.
"Hey Rose?" Scorpius asked.
"Yeah?" Rose said without turning around.
"Look at me," Scorpius said.
Rose turned around to face him and he took both her hands in his.
"So, we've known each other for a long time now. I love you very much, you know that. The first time I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the one for me. I loved you from that very second which is why I would love if you would marry me," Scorpius said, getting down on one knee and holding out a ring box.
Rose covered her mouth with her hand and gasped. She nodded slowly and held out her left hand so Scorpius could slip the ring on her finger. He smiled broadly and enveloped her in a hug. She hugged back and began to cry silently.
"Shh, Rose, it's okay," Scorpius said soothingly to his fiancé.
Rose stopped crying and wiped her face with her hand. Scorpius held her out so he could see her face.
"Aw, Rosie. I didn't mean to make it all so emotional," Scorpius joked.
Rose let out a laugh. Scorpius smiled.
"That's my Rosie. Hey! Do you want to go out and celebrate? We can go out to dinner. How does The Leaky Cauldron sound?" Scorpius asked.
Rose nodded and they went downstairs to get outfits out of a box in the living room. Rose went into the bedroom to change and Scorpius went into the bathroom. They emerged moments later. Rose wore a flowing pink and white sundress and Scorpius wore a red polo shirt and khakis. They smiled at each other and grasped hands. They Apparated into Diagon Alley, directly outside The Leaky Cauldron. They walked inside.
"Table for two, please?" Scorpius asked the worker at the front.
She nodded and led them to a table in a corner of the restaurant. They sat down and ordered soon after.
"I can't believe we're getting married," Rose said.
"I can," Scorpius said, placing his hand over Rose's.
Rose smiled at him and leaned across the table to kiss him.

After dinner, they left the restaurant and went back to their flat. They Apparated there from a small alleyway beside The Leaky Cauldron. When they reached their flat, they got ready for bed and lay down beside one another.
"Tomorrow's my first day at the Ministry," Rose said.
Scorpius nodded.
"Your first day as Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports," Scorpius said.
"I know. I can't wait," Rose said excitedly.
They smiled at each other before falling asleep.

Rose woke up at 6:30 the next morning to get ready for work. She took a shower and got dressed before Scorpius had even woken up. She allowed him to sleep in a bit since he wasn't working at the moment.
He came downstairs and into the kitchen while Rose was making her coffee. He put his hands around her waist and kissed her cheek. She smiled.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," Rose said.
Scorpius rolled his eyes and went to grab the cereal from the cabinet. Rose sat down at the table with her coffee and a bagel and started to eat.
Rose finished her food and stood up. Scorpius was reading The Daily Prophet. He stood up and hugged and kissed her before she left.
Rose Apparated directly to The Ministry of Magic.
"Good morning, sweetie," a voice said behind Rose.
Rose turned and saw her mother standing behind her. She was still the Minister for Magic.
"Hi, mum," Rose replied.
They hugged before going to Rose's office together.
She had a big office in the back corner of her department. She sat down at her desk and set up her pictures and other knickknacks. Her mother stayed until she had set everything up.
"Have a good day," Hermione said as she left.
Rose waved and smiled.
She started on her paperwork and worked until her lunch break at 12:00. Scorpius came in about that time and took her out for lunch. They Apparated out of Rose's office and into Hogsmeade. They walked into The Three Broomsticks and got a table. After they had ordered their food and drinks, they sat talking about Rose's first day at the Ministry and what Scorpius had gotten done at their flat today so far.
They stopped talking abruptly as a bald wizard in long black robes and a black cloak approached their table.
"Can we help you?" Rose asked him.
"Are you Rose Granger-Weasley?" the man asked.
"Who wants to know?" Rose asked suspiciously.
"I am Vance Collins. I work for the Quidditch coordinator of the Holyhead Harpies," the man replied calmly.
"Well, in that case, yes, I am," Rose said.
"I'm going to need you to come with me for a moment. This man, however, will need to stay here," Vance told Rose.
"But he's my fiancé," Rose argued.
"Alright, alright, just come along," Vance gave in.
Rose and Scorpius stood up and followed Vance through The Three Broomsticks to a fireplace in the back of the pub. The flames were glowing green and a head sat in the fire. Vance motioned towards the fireplace.
"Rose, this is my boss, Hannah Quinn, Quidditch coordinator for the Holyhead Harpies," Vance explained.
Rose crouched down so she was on eye level with the head in the fire.
"Hello," Rose said.
"Hi there, Rose. I'm Hannah Quinn, Quidditch coordinator for the Holyhead Harpies. We are short one player, now that Ginny Weasley has retired. I was wondering if you wanted to fill the position for me," Hannah explained to Rose.
"What? Why me?" Rose asked, astonished.
"I saw your Quidditch records from your time at school and I also heard from Headmistress McGonagall that you were once team captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team," Hannah told her.
Rose sat, open mouthed.
"I mean- uh- well- my- uh- I just started a- a new job," Rose stuttered.
"We can work it out with your boss if you want to join the team," Hannah assured her.
Rose nodded thoughtfully. She turned and looked at Scorpius. He gave her an encouraging smile and a thumbs-up. Rose smiled.
"I'll do it."
