"Pregnant?" April whispered
"Congratulations" said doctor Sebastian
"But how?" She whispered still in shock.
"Well unless this was a miraculous conception I'm sure you already know how your baby was made" he replied
"Yes of course" she said
"Would you like a picture?" He asked
"Yes please" she replied
She watched as he walked over to the machines and printed out a picture for her.
"Here you go!" He said
She took the picture and stared at it, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Thank you"
"You should stop by the front desk and make a followup appointment. Three weeks from now should be good"
"Thank you doctor"
April got up and walked out, forgetting to even stop to make an appointment. She climbed into the waiting car. She stated at the photo the whole way to the office trying to wrap her head around the news she just received. Instinctively she placed her hand on her stomach and sighed.
"Here we are ma'am" said the driver opening the door.
She thanked him and climbed out of the car and slid the picture into her bag.
"Good you're here, the phone as been ringing nonstop and I need to finish up these documents before I go to get Hailey from school. The jet will be ready to take us to New York by three" said Jason
"Us?" April replied
"Yes. Its we're going to that grand opening for the hotel we took over" Jason replied
"OK" April sat down and put her bag on the desk but too close to the edge so the contents of the bag spilled.
Jason bent to help her pick the things off the floor his hand pausing over the sonogram photo. April went still and looked at him.
"So am I getting another niece or a nephew?" He asked
"Please don't say anything to anyone" she pleaded
"How long have you known?" He asked
"I got it confirmed today" she replied
"Congratulations are in order then" he said
"Yea I guess so" she replied
"Hey, this is a good thing" he tried to reassure her
"I know. Its just that everything is a mess right now. I'm so confused" she replied
"Just talk to him alright? Take the rest of the day off. Pack a overnight bag and we'll be by to pick you up from your apartment later"
"Are you sure? I don't want to leave you alone to handle all the phones"
