Forget Me Not

Chapter 41

"We're under attack!" One of them screamed and grabbed a metal crowbar and started beating me with it.

 "Time for the injection she's out of control."

"You expected taking the soul of a powerful Princess would be easy?" Another one snapped at the rest.

"Inject her." She ordered. The fight was far from over, I continued to move around violently, not wanting that to enter my body. I needed to live somehow but it seemed as if I was outnumbered and it wasn't possible.

"W-what are you doing to me." I slowly said as they injected me and my eyes got heavier and heavier, they started chanting again and I started to feel motionless, lifeless.

Until I died.

"Blood is everywhere he'll kill us if he found out she was completely dead is there a pulse?" A nurse asked in a rushed tone.

"No pulse." Another said shakily and scared.

"Oh my god." Another started to cry while the head nurse had my soul in a jar. It fought to find my body back and I wish it would but my soul was gone.

"Release this into the forgotten lands, she will live again, but a new life without her soul, without power, she will be a human and her memories will be gone." The head nurse gave orders and all of the others followed.

I snapped out of Katalina's memory while I was viewing her soul. It was hollow with a huge hole in the chest and I looked into it seeing that it was pleading with me. I didn't know what it wanted but it wanted me to know something.

To figure something out.

"I don't know what you want but I have to get going,"  I said getting ready to leave and a force held me still in that spot.

My head started hurting again and I held it...

"We need to make sure her memories are gone too, we'll have to destroy her hippocampus."  The head nurse said to the rest.

"Wouldn't that be too gory and bloody for-"

"DO IT!" She snapped leaving the room.

 I was shocked at the memory and suddenly my feet could move again. I knew what her soul wanted and I was going to do it even if it kills me.

Aiden's POV

I noticed those two knuckleheads left me behind but I came anyway, I had to be here for Kat, I just put my beta in charge. I couldn't believe I was in the fucking lands of the forgotten chasing a god damn scent. I wasn't sure if I should wait here until they get back or go in the same direction the others were going in and hoped the other two knuckleheads knew where we went.

I've decided to stay here for a bit longer when I see a beauty lurking in the woods.

"Aiden my sweet." She smiled and ran to me, but she looked ghostly. She looked like the spitting image of- no way how could this be when we just saw Katalina and it was pure flesh.

"Wait up!" Amie chasing the ghostly looking Katalina and Allen was right behind her.

"What the hell is this?" I asked a little confused.

"The odd scent I smelled," Allen stated

"Katalina's spirit that's lost but I'll spare the details til later, let's go," Amy stated while putting Katalina's spirit in her spirit jar and placing it in her bag. 

It seemed as if we were walking for hours and the place started getting dark and foggy making it harder and harder to see.

Even a wolf's vision got clouded in these lands and that was the death of you.

"Hey hey I know you hear me." A man shouted coming toward us but we paid him no mind.

We kept walking, there were thousands of spirits on these lands looking for a way out but are trapped. 

I could hear voices but I didn't quite know where it was coming from all we can do was use our hearing to navigate because by now vision wasn't an option.

"I hear the Princess is on these lands looking for that girl, that little girl is probably dead by now." I hear voices all around.

We questioned the voices as we heard them conversing about our mission.

"I know, did you hear what happened to her? This was the trap of a lifetime." Another laughed and I started getting angrier by the second not knowing what any of them were talking about.

"Her father came to get her just a few hours ago, he had a change of heart." I hear a voice say.

"Nonsense! change of heart my ass stop rambling we all know where the girl is, she's in the forgotten lands in grove 30 that's at least hours away from here which is grove 10 you have 20 more groves to go." A girl said.

"That's where they say she is being held. But good luck getting there and getting back before your soul is eventually lost." She laughed.

As we were walking up some more we heard a huge explosion and chaos erupted.

What the hell was going on?
