Chapter 25

Carolines POV

.........PREGNANT, omg what am I going to do. Luke and I haven't even spoken about kids and we are not even married yet. I sat back on the bed and I heard Leclaire come home
"Caroline in home honey are you upstairs" she called
I had to answer as my truck was still in the drive
"Yeah I'm upstairs I will be down in a couple of minutes" I called down
"Ok honey I will make us some hot tea"
I had to speak to someone and Lecaire was the closest thing to a mother I had.  I put the tests in the trash and headed downstairs. I saw Leclaire in the Kitchen as I went in.
"Hey honey y'all ok" she asked me. She must have known something was wrong with the look of worry on my face
"Oh Mama" was all I could manage before I broke down in tears.
"Oh sweetheart what's the matter talk to me I'm sure it's not that bad" she said wrapping her arm around my shoulder and hugging me
"I'm ...... Im......"
"Your what honey come in breathe just tell me."
"In pregnant" I said looking at her
"OMG Caroline honey that's fantastic, why are you so upset" she asked
"I don't know how to tell Luke, we haven't spoken about kids and his career is high flying" I said still crying
"Oh Caroline, I'm sure Luke will be happy, he loves kids and the fact that he is having them with you will make him even happier" she said reassuringly
"I haven't told him yet I only just took the test before you came home. I don't think it's a conversation to be had over the phone, and I don't think I can wait another 4 days to tell him. I won't be able to keep it from him when she calls" I said
"Well why don't we get a flight up and surprise him, you can tell and I can do some sightseeing, it's been years since I have been to New York" she said
"You think we can keep it quiet."
"Leave it to me honey, you go and pack a bag and I will call Luke, defer the scent. I will tell you are having a nap and you wanted me to call him and let him know you will call him later"
"Sneaky"
I laughed and headed upstairs to get ready to give Luke the most most life changing news ever.
