Chapter 6

The rest of mamas party went really well and the night was coming to an end. I didn't see Caroline much after we spoke but we exchanged cell numbers. After all the guests were away and Michael and I helped clean up a little I headed up to bed. Michael hit it off with Sadie to he was laying on the sofa texting like a teenager. I grabbed a quick shower and came out to see I had a text in my phone
Caroline : Hey Luke I'm so glad we are friends again, I really have missed you x
I couldn't stop smiling at the kiss she had put at the end. I fired up a quick reply
Luke: Hey me too. Have you any plans tomorrow, how would you like the grab some dinner, as friends x
Of course I had to put a kiss at the end. It didn't take long for her to reply
Caroline: 35 Live Oak road, 7pm see you then x
Yes I have a date with Caroline tomorrow, oh sorry I am having dinner with a friend and I was so excited.
Luke: See you tomorrow, goodnight x
She said goodnight back and I fell asleep happy. 
The next morning I woke to the sound of Mama hollering upstairs
"Thomas Luther, get down here for your breakfast"
OMG what time was it, I looked at the clock and I was gone 10, Jesus, I ain't slept this long in ages must have been all the dreaming I was doing about Caroline that kept me sleeping. I rolled out of bed and pulled in my bulldogs t shirt and shirts and headed downstairs. Mama had made buttermilk pancakes and bacon with homemade maple syrup, oh how I had missed Mamas cooking. Michael was already on his second round of pancakes
"So Luke fancy heading into town for a few beers tonight" he asked
"Oh sorry buddy I kinda made plans to go out the dinner tonight with Caroline" I replied
"You to back together," he asked
"No we are just friends" I said
Mama came over and rubbed my back
"Oh boy I saw the way y'all were looking at each other the love is still strong with you too" she said
"Well definitely with me Mama I love her so much I can't believe I messed up" I said
"Well baby, things that are meant to be always find there way" she smiled
I knew she was right. I finished breakfast and headed upstairs for a shower. Michael and I were going to go fishing before my dinner with Caroline, I was so nervous
