I knew you were gonna be there

Chapter 11

After we showered we locked up the house and got into my truck and headed to Mamas. I placed my hand on her lap and she immediately covered my hand with hers.
Within 10 minutes we were pulling into
Mamas driveway.
"You ready" I asked
"As I will ever be" she replied
I got out my side of the truck and I ran round and opened the passenger side door. I took her hand and helped her down and I couldn't resist kissing her,
"Hey calm down boy" called Mama from the porch.
"Sorry Mama" I laughed. I took Carolines hand and we walked up to Mama
"Come here darlin' give your Mama a hug" she said to Caroline "Im so happy you too are back together, and if my knucklehead son messes up again he will have me to answer to"
"Is not messing this up again Mama" I said putting my arm around her
"Well in that case I hope y'all are hungry, I have made a feast. Michael and Sadie are already at the table and you know how much that boy can eat so y'all better hurry" she said laughing.
We walked into the kitchen and Sadie got up and hugged Caroline
"Everything ok" she whispered
"Yes brilliant in fact" she said
I sat down next to Micheal and Across from Caroline,
"All good buddy" he asked
"Fantastic, we will catch up later" I said
Mama had made pancakes, biscuits, sausage, bacon and eggs and country gravy.
"You weren't lying when you said you made a feast" I said
After we ate breakfast Caroline and Sadie helped Mama with the dishes and me and Michael headed out the chop some wood for the fire.
"You look happy buddy" he said to me
"Oh Buddy I feel like I have won the lotto and discovered the cure for Cancer all at the one time, but...." I didn't know what to say
"But what Luke" he quizzed
"We head back out on the road in two weeks, I just hope we are strong enough to stay together" I said
"Luke listen to me, you guys are made for each other, none of the two of you found anyone else in the past five years, you will be fine and you can fly her out to some shows, that's what I am doing with Sadie" he said
"Yeah I just actually need to talk to Caroline about it I'm sure everything will be fine"
We headed back into the house with the wood and I saw Caroline come out the kitchen. My stomach jumps every time I see her,
"Baby can I have a word please, outside" I said
"Yeah is everything ok Luke?" She asked with a little bit of worry,
"Yeah I'm fine we are fine just need to speak to you about something"
We walked outside and sat on the porch swing,
"So as you know I head back out on the road in two weeks and I just want to know how you feel about that" I asked
"Luke I know you have a job to do, don't get me wrong I will miss you like crazy, but I will come see you when ever I can" she said putting her head on my shoulder
"That makes me feel loads better I was afraid to bring it up in case it ruined things,"
"Don't be silly, I love you let's have so much fun these up coming weeks, create some memories"
We sat on the porch for a few more minutes, and headed back inside to make plans for the time we had left.
