Chapter 7

'Sweet dreams Lolo...'

Lauren stretched out, reaching up to gently rub the sleep from her eyes before eventually opening them. She stared sleepily at the ceiling, cursing the curtain that was open just enough to have the rising sun hitting her right in the face.

'Why do I have to be on the side of the house where the sun comes up?' Lauren asked herself before seeing her phone on her pillow. She became confused for a second before remembering that she had called Camila last night and must have fallen asleep during their conversation. Swiftly reaching for the phone, she felt bad before noticing that the call was still connected.

'Hello...?' Lauren asked out, raising an eyebrow. She became even more surprised when she got a reply within seconds.

'Morning sleepy head.' She could almost picture Camila's smile when she heard her voice.

'Hi, I think. You sound happy this morning?' Lauren grunted, sitting up to get out of her bed.

'That would be because I am for now.'

'Hey Camz?'

'Ya?'

'Why didn't you hang up after I fell asleep?' Lauren asked almost accusingly, curious to see how Camila would answer her question.

'Uuuh.... Uhm.. You see.. I ah...' She stuttered and then became silent for a minute.

'We don't have all day honey.' The black haired girl huffed, rolling her eyes playfully as she got out clothes to wear for the day.

'Look Lauren, it's not my fault that your snoring is really cute, okay?' Camila sighed defeatedly.

'I do not sn-' Lauren started before the other girl interrupted mid-sentence.

'Oh come on. Don't start with the 'I don't snore' bull shit. First of all, I was there. Second of all, you are the one that fell asleeps, so now I got dem receipts.'

'Receipts?' She couldn't help but chuckle at the other girl's horrible attempt at rhyming.

'Yes, I got that proof.' Camila clarified and laughed loudly when she heard Lauren sigh.

'Camz, stop trying to avoid the real problem here. I can see what you're doing y'know.'

'I don't know what you're talking about...?' She sounded genuinely confused, but Lauren wasn't going to fall for it.

'You dork, how much did you sleep?' There was a silence for a long time. Lauren didn't get an answer, but she didn't need it. She looked up at the clock on her wall to check the time before looking around her room and sighing for the fiftieth time this morning. 'Make sure you're ready for school in thirty minutes, I'll be there to pick you up. I'm taking you to school.'

'That doesn't really sound like a question.' Camila finally spoke again.

'That's because it's not, Cabello. See you soon.'

'Alright. If I don't get a choice I guess I'll see you then.' The black haired girl heard her huff before she hung up and started getting ready.

'I thought you'd be a little more thrilled than this to have Camila in most of your classes today.' Ally's words interrupted Lauren's thoughts, so she lifted her head out of her hands to look up at the shorter girl. They were in the cafeteria with Dinah for lunch, Camila had left to go to the bathroom a couple of minutes ago. She couldn't help but be worried and confused about the changes in Camila's behaviour today. The brunette had changed from being hyperactive and jumping, constantly cuddling up to Lauren and shouting random things, to snapping and glaring at her like she just killed a puppy at the drop of a hat throughout the day.
