Section 1 - Article 24

Start from the beginning

Yet this very incomplete, illogical, nonsensical and even mythical account of Christ demonstrates one very important thing. It demonstrates that the accounts of Jesus cannot be possibly made up! Whilst the four gospels have been readily proven to be dated to different dates and written by different individuals, the consensus is not necessary credible. There is no evidence to rebut critics' suggestion on the possibility of the writers coming together to agree to spin a story together and write them at different times to fool the later generations.

But surely, even if the few people did come together to spin a story, surely they would spin something more believable and credible historically? Or at the very least make Jesus look a real hero and God? Who could possibly believe those mythical accounts to be historical?

Yet the gospel writers claim them to be accurate records! So do the early church fathers! Surely, then the very nonsensical and mythical accounts demonstrate that the authors were writing the very Truth! Knowing the very ridiculousness and mythical nature of their account (a point even the criminal next to His cross mentioned), claim it to be eye witnesses of these facts for Jesus to be God and King, and die for it! For surely, no one would believe me if I wrote that I went to the distant planet Jupiter and came back last night on a magical portal, and merely claim it was the truth! No one in their right mind would believe me! And would it be true, I would not want to declare it, but prefer to bring it to my grave a secret. There really is no consequence to other people whether they believed me; unless I went to Jupiter, and met someone completely credible and almighty who commanded me to spread the information. In this case, should I fail to follow the mighty alien's commands, there would be great consequences. Similarly, I would also be motivated to do so if I was convinced that my life on Earth had little consequence to my later life. As a pragmatist, there has to be something that makes it worth my dying to hold on a very incredible and 'not so convincing' experience.

Surely the martyrs and the life testimonials of the early Christians demonstrate that the accounts of Christ were not only credible, but also that there is more to physical victory expected of a hero and Messiah? So, now, we come back to the heroism of the Lord Jesus of Nazareth given that there are many who regarded Him as the long awaited Messiah and God incarnate. Given that nothing much in the physical world has changed since His coming and going, and that even if we were to believe the supernatural accounts, and that Jesus helped many individuals were healed and benefited, where is the major impact? Surely, there is no point in making a person who did eventually get crucified and resurrected to no major sociological or political effect, a God incarnate? We do not have to make everyone who benefitted a small minority of individual lives into heroes that are worthy of worship and a cause for martyrdom is there? Bill Gates donated a lot of money for AIDS research, many doctors and researchers helped many individuals, yet we do not need to worship them do we?

There comes the exasperated 'why'? Surely, a Hero must bring down an evil tyrant, an evil empire, save multitudes of individuals, and change the world? Did Jesus of Nazareth do that? I personally would not even worship anyone who only changed an entire continent's fate. Should not people only worship a God who can change the world and be able to continue doing that? There is little point in worshipping a mortal, limited or local god. Alexander the Great (who did change a big part of the world) is dead; he cannot do anything for me now. I do not see the point of canonizing any dead person, or even anyone alive that is not omnipotent. The great men of the past in all cultures may have changed the world or shaped many lives, but unless they can help anyone now, they cannot possibly be elevated to God status since they cannot do anything for me or the world now. So in order for pragmatic individuals to treat Jesus as God, He has to be able to be omnipotent and omnipresent even after His death.

Based on the very accounts of Jesus Christ, Jesus did change many things. His birth and death brought salvation to all man. And the salvation continues to the present age to those who put their faith in Him. So that itself is a timeless and continuing act, available to all regardless of time or place - omnipresence. But what and whose empire was brought down? The answer was linked to salvation. Man had fallen and were condemned by their own disobedience (explained and revealed in Genesis), and as a result, fell into the ownership of the devil, Satan – the tyrant who rules this world with evil, pain, and suffering. By bringing salvation, Satan's empire is broken; anyone can release themselves from the evil tyrant. The power of the evil tyrant is no more. Death, the greatest power of the tyrant is now but a doorway to returning home to the Lord. Death has lost its sting.

Surely, to defeat this evil tyrant who is not physical, requires supernatural means? And this supernatural means refers to the death and resurrection of Christ. Upon further analysis, this is akin to many political heroes where self-sacrifice is a stark contrast to the use of arms. The devil and his empire are not physical entities for guns and missiles, but are principalities like that of politics and ideologies. Ideas can only be effectively fought with ideas, just as principalities can only be fought with righteousness, courage, power and truth. The life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus were filled with righteousness, courage, power, truth and life! Healing continues to come to those that hold on to him after His death. Therefore, the power extends beyond that of the spiritual realm to the physical realm, visualized in healing, hope, deliverance from addictions and ideas in an omnipresent manner. Surely, the world was changed, and is still changing on a mass and worldwide omnipresent manner. Do we see this? If not, is it because we are not aware of the events ourselves?

Surely with the above points, the Lord Jesus Christ is a hero and God incarnate. One Hero and God worthy of all love, worship, praise and even dedication to the point of death! At this point, we have to recognize that death is now merely a door, with a personalized invitation with a designated date for every individual person to go through. If a King, or Prime Minister or President were to meet you, surely, an invitation with stated time and date would be given. And surely all who are secured in their salvation should look forward to meeting this Entity of greatness beyond that of Kings, Presidents and Prime Ministers! Should not all who are saved, look forward to this appointment time called Death? Yet here I must caution that it is extremely rude to turn up before the appointed time. Actively turning up at the wrong time is not really accepted as honored guests. It is very rude to the Host! And no person sure of their salvation, should take it upon themselves to turn up at the wrong time by their own means, but wait for the beckoning of the Host. Simply put, suicide is truly not acceptable!
