"Aunt Jane!" I shouted as she came out of the airport. She saw me and started walking towards us. I turned around to look at Dave and smiled.
"Well there's the little love birds. Hello you two," aunt Jane said when she walked up to us. She gave us both hugs before Dave took her bag and put it in the trunk while we got in the car. Once Dave got in the car, I turned around to face my aunt.
"So what does Aunt Jane want to do while she's in town?" I asked as Dave started the car and we headed towards the hotel she'd be staying at.
"Well I think we need to get you a place ASAP. Did you do what I told you to do?" aunt Jane asked and Dave looked over at me. When my aunt called to tell us she was coming yesterday, she told me to go through rent listings. Dave and I had went through them and found a couple we thought would be ok.
"Ya I did and if that's what you want to do then we can do that," I replied and picked up the paper. I saw that one was close by and showed Dave as we came to a stop light.
"That's like right around the corner," he said and turned the blinker on.
"Is it an apartment or a house?" my aunt asked as we started moving again. I looked at the paper before answering.
"A small 3 bedroom 2 bath house," I read out loud. It was the only house we had circled. The rent was cheap and Dave and I would each get an extra room to do whatever with.
"Done. I'd rather a house over an apartment for my perfect Penny," aunt Jane replied. Dave pulled the car over and I looked up at the house beside me. It said for rent in front and was blue.
"It's a boy house," I said as we got out of the car. Dave walked around and stood beside me as aunt Jane headed up to door.
"You sure about this babe?" he asked as I kept staring at the house. I finally looked at him and smiled.
"I was kind of hoping for an apartment but I can do this. I want this. I'm scared but I got you by my side right?" I asked.
"Of course. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. Let's go join your aunt and the woman she's talking to," Dave replied as he took my hand and we started walking up to the house. We walked through the house with the woman and she agreed to rent to us because we seemed like two good and responsible kids. That and the fact my aunt was paying the rent for us.
"You two are going to love it here. There's a park down the street and the school two blocks away is great," the woman said as we walked into the living room to work out details. Dave and I both turned and looked at her.
"I don't think they're ready for kids yet. She's waiting til they get married right sweetie?" aunt Jane said and nodded her head as if to say go along with it as she stood behind the woman.
"We just started dating and she's waiting til we're married. It will happen one day, sooner or later," Dave replied and I looked at him.
"We're also still so young but who knows. When it happens it happens," I said back as Dave and I both smiled at each other.
"Doris, let's work out the details while these two go outside and look around the backyard," aunt Jane said as she moved over to Dave and I. She gave us a small push and we headed out to the backyard. Dave and I both lit a smoke and sat down at the table.
"Well looks like we have a place," Dave said after awhile.
"Yep. That was weird right?" I asked.
"A little bit. Atleast we know what's around us for future reference," Dave replied. We started talking about what we were going to do to the place when we moved in. After we put our smokes out in the ashtray that was on the table my aunt came out.
