Chapter 32: The Best Is Yet To Come

Hanlon was born on June ninth of 2012 and our life became a little more chaotic but in a good way. Six months after his first birthday I found out I was pregnant again and I told Dave this was the last one. Ophelia joined us on August first and we were extremely happy and then 5 days later Dave's dad James passed away. Ophelia was now a month old and Dave was about to go back out on tour soon. I had just put Fifi and Hans down for naps when I walked into Dave's office and sat down on the couch. He was sitting in the chair at the desk looking at his computer screen. Dave eventually turned around and came and joined me on the couch. I snuggled up to him and he put and arm around me. We sat there in silence for a bit before I spoke up.

"Are you sure you're okay to go back out there?" I asked.

"I'm fine babe. I'll take more time off after this tour. You're going to be okay here with four kids right?" Dave asked in return.

"Of course I will. I got your mom, Lisa and good old aunt Jane," I replied.

"Don't call your aunt too much. She seems a little off lately," Dave said. I sat up and moved away from him.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"She just seems out of it most of the time. She's more forgetful and she shakes a lot," Dave replied. I knew something was off with my aunt but I didn't want to admit it.

"Dave she's fine. It's just old age," I said and then got up.

"Hey come back here. I wasn't trying to upset you," Dave said as I got to the door. I turned around and he got up and came over to me.

"I know but it's just scary. She's all I got left for family," I responded with.

"I know. Maybe just talk to her and see if she'll go get a check up or if she knows. Violet told me Jane was looking for her car keys the other day and they were in her hand the whole time," Dave said and I decided he was right.

I agreed to talk to my aunt and then I went and did some laundry. When Han woke up Dave brought him to the kitchen where I was starting dinner. Dave put the baby monitor on the counter by me, gave me a kiss and then said he was going to his moms to get the girls and to see her for bit. After he left I finished the chicken and put it in the oven before I went to go get Fifi who was crying. I took Han and the oven timer and we went to get Ophelia. We came back downstairs and stayed in the living room until the Dave and the girls got home. Dave took Ophelia from me and I went to finish making dinner. The rest of the night went by like any other night, dinner, get the kids ready for bed, movie and then bedtime. Dave went to the in home studio while I took a bath. After my bath I got into bed and went to sleep. I woke up when Dave got in and snuggled up to me. I looked at the time and saw it was 4 in the morning.

"Everything ok?" I asked.

"Ya Fifi woke up and I took care of her. You must have been tired if you didn't hear her," Dave replied.

"I was thinking that maybe you were right. I'll go see my aunt tomorrow. You ok to watch the kids for a bit?" I asked back.

"Ya and if she needs anything we'll be there for her. Go back to sleep before one of the other kids wakes up," Dave said and kissed the back of my neck.

The next day we had breakfast and got the kids ready for the day and I then headed over to my aunts. We had a talk and she agreed to go to the doctor. I called her doctor and she told us to meet him at the hospital and he'd do a bunch of tests. While my aunt got the tests done, I called in to check in on Dave and give him an update. He told me everything at home was fine and to just be there for my aunt. When my aunt was finished they put her into a room while we waited for the results. I kept tapping my hands on my knees as we waited and I knew I was driving my aunt nuts but she didn't say anything. When her doctor came in I wasn't expecting him to tell us wheat he did. I was still in shock as we headed to the car. I dropped her off at her lawyer's like she asked me too and then I headed home. When I got there I headed straight to mine and Dave's room and just sat down on the bed and started crying.
