The Next Day

"He hates me," I said as we got in the car to go to Jimmy's.

"No he doesn't. He's just like that babe. Trust me when I say he likes you," Dave said back and I gave up. Wasn't worth fighting over whether his dad liked me or not. We were heading over to Jimmy's to stay for the night. Jimmy was having a couple of his and Dave's friends over for a few drinks and poker.

"Are there going to be any other girls there?" I asked as Dave drove.

"I think Jimmy said the girl he was kind of seeing might show up. Do you know how to play poker?" Dave asked and I shook my head no when he looked at me. "Well that's ok. You can sit on my lap and learn." He winked at me and I giggled.

"Then we'll talk about whatever pops up right?" I asked and he laughed.

"We could but I don't think the guys want to hear or see that discussion. What did I do to you?" he asked with a smile and I moved over into the middle seat to be closer to him.

"You didn't do anything. You just took something," I replied and we both laughed.

"Jimmy isn't going to see us for at least an hour once I get you into his place," Dave said and I smiled. He put his hand on my knee as he drove, which was what he always did when we sat beside each other.

"We are going to leave the bedroom at some point tonight correct?" I asked as he pulled into a drive way.

"Of course but I told Jimmy you refused to do anything at my moms. He understands why we're stealing his bedroom and he's fine with it," Dave replied as we got out of the car and headed to the front door. I rang the bell as Dave grabbed my hand. I smiled at him as the door open.

"The love birds are finally here. Come on in we've been expecting you. I need to go pick up my girl. Please be gentle with my bed or the couch or wherever Dave decides to bend you over while I'm gone. I'll be back in about an hour and thirty minutes. Be safe you two," Jimmy said as he let us in. He winked at us before he closed the door and Dave and I just looked at each other.

"Told you he got it," Dave said which caused me to laugh.

"So what are you going to bend me over?" I asked as I took off my jacket and boots and walked into Jimmy's living room. Dave stayed by the door as he did the same thing.

"Seriously what have I done to you? You went from being all Dave not here and Dave I'm not ready to what are you going to bend me over," Dave said as he walked over to me.

"We can go back to that if you want?" I asked sarcastically as he grabbed my hand and lead me down a hall way with our bag.

"I don't want that. Also to answer your question I'm going to be bending you over the edge of the bed," Dave replied as he opened a door and walked in. I stayed standing in the door way as he put our bag on the bed. I felt weird going into someone else's bedroom. My room had been my safe place until the day my dad ruined it and I didn't want to ruin someone else's space.

"Where's Jimmy going to sleep?" I asked as Dave started walking over to me again.

"The couch most likely. What's wrong? I know that look Britt," Dave asked as he put his hands on my arms and rubbed one of them.

"Where's his girl going to sleep?" I asked in response.

"Probably in the single bed in the other room. It's not big enough for two which is why Jimmy told me we could have his bed when we stayed here with him. What's wrong?" Dave asked again after responding.

"It's nothing. I love you," I said and kissed him. Dave rolled his eyes before I kissed him again.

"I love you too and if you're not in the mood we can always wait until later," Dave said and I raised an eyebrow at him.
