Chapter 23: Full Steam Ahead

1 Month Later - December 15, 1997

The day after my party, Taylor had found us in a cuddle puddle the next morning and freaked out. We told him we were trying again and that we were taking our time this time. He didn't like it but he said if it was what we both wanted then he'd support us. They left to go on tour and over the past month, we talked at least twice a day. We both didn't like to talk on the phone but he usually only called to say he was going to bed and that he missed me or that they had arrived at the next stop on the tour safely. Today they where coming home and I was more than excited. I had taken the day off so I could pick them all up at the airport. I was leaning against the car waiting for them when I saw Pat first. I hugged him, Nate and Taylor before finally hugging Dave. He lifted me up and spun me around a couple of times before putting me down and kissing me.

"I missed you," Dave said as the guys put their stuff in the car.

"I missed you too. I can't wait to get you home and into bed," I said back as Taylor grabbed Dave's bag from him.

"Five more months young lady," Dave said and I rolled my eyes at him.

"I know but I can want to cuddle with you. I just want to cuddle, make out and watch a movie tonight with a pizza or chinese food. Or burgers and fries or I can cook if you want me to," I rambled on. Dave stopped me by giving me another kiss.

"We will drop everyone off, get whatever we want for dinner and munchies for later cause I know you, we'll go rent some movies and then we will go to my place and we will never leave that bed," Dave said and I just smiled at him.

"That sounds like heaven. Let's drop these weirdos off so we can be alone," I said, being a little over the top so the others could hear me.

"Told you they wouldn't last the whole six months," Taylor said as we all got in the car.

We dropped Nate and Pat off on Pat's place before dropping Taylor off at my place. We went and got burgers and a pizza along with candy and chips before stopping at blockbuster. We rented Beauty And The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, The Night Flier, Boogie Nights, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Tower of Terror. All my choices but he didn't care. He said he just wanted to spend time with me. I also got Die Hard just so he wouldn't be completely bored for the next two days. We drove home and settled down on the couch with everything and where about half way through I Know What You Did Last Summer when Dave started talking.

"What are you doing for Christmas this year?" he asked.

"I am sitting in my house alone while my aunt goes off on her vacation with this new guy she's seeing and Abby and Taylor go off to see their families. You going to see your mom?" I asked as I sat up to look at him.

"I am. Why don't you come with me? My mom would love to see you again. I told her we got back together and told me to bring you out for a visit when we were both able to go," Dave replied. I thought about it for a second and then leaned over and kissed him.

"Ask your mom first and if she says yes then I will go with you," I said back. Dave paused the movie and reached over to the phone and started dialing.

"Hey mom....Yes I got home ok.... Britt came and got us.... Yes she's here with me right now. Actually mom we were talking about Christmas.... Yes I'm still coming home but that's why I called actually. Would it be ok if Britt joined us?... Thanks mom. I'll tell her.... I love you too. Night mom," Dave said and hung up.

"She said yes?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yep. Looks like I'm taking you home for Christmas again. Why you looking at me like that?" Dave asked back as I smiled at him.
