"Oh...that makes sense! Thanks Jack!" she again gave me the sweet smile.

"You know its so fun to figure out how humans behave Jack. I like learning with you," she said. she gave me a quick kiss on the forehead which almost blinded me. I swerved the remote car away from a tree in time after I recovered.

"See if you can check for anything else I might not be thinking of. Look for ways to cover whatever I overlook. That will help the most since I can't stop to look at every house number and mailbox," I said, while with my other hand and with glances I'm trying to not crash the car.

It looks like Steve and Sarah live too far away to reach. I wonder how they even got down here from where they live.

Craig on the other hand, doesn't live too far. We might be able to do something. I don't even know if I want to check for survivors with Steve and Sara's address.

But inside my head I want to go back to finding Barbara. This is only something to do while we have a temporary break.

"Ruth how are you doing?" I asked towards lunch after checking around a few other streets. I'm also marking which spots on the map are the worst zombie hot zones too. I'm still cruising a lot of the streets with no luck. It isn't unusual to hear gun shots on the other side of town going through the microphone so we know there definitely are some survivors.

Where the hell is that black box? I have to find it!

"I'm doing great Jack! Thanks for taking care of me," Ruth is still sitting in the same chair as I am, but from behind me leaning against me pushing into me with her arms around my chest. Wow this is warm and heavenly. I hope she'll just stay like that all day actually.

"I have some homework for you. I'd like you to take the solar parts that I'd ordered and put them in the living room OK? Later we're going to build us a solar system. Also see if you can find any books lying around for survival skills, Boy Scout skills, anything that can help our situation, be it real books or other things like ebooks. Any other info to store that can help us be self sufficient and survive go after tonight or when you can too. Although to be fair we probably won't have power much longer after today," I said.

"Got it Jack, but can I have a reward if I do good?" she asked with a bright look on her face. She's getting up to go take care of it.

A reward? Where did she get that idea from? I thought she's supposed to be kind of like belong to me? I don't like thinking of it in terms of a slave relationship...but I'm so distrustful from various things that I worry when someone wants to change it. Technically even if people don't say it anymore...everyone is still thinking androids are sexbots too.

And Ruth could easily pass for one of the hottest sexbots ever made with her perfect bland of Caucasian and Latin features with the best of both worlds.

"What kind of reward?" I said back.

"Maybe you'll rub my back or hold me for awhile," she said.

My heart just sort of jumped a bit. Oh wow. I probably wouldn't be able to do that without getting too excited. I'm afraid of what would happen then.

That sounds kind of fun.

"Um, let's do that then," I managed to say it very carefully.

She moved towards me.

"But not now, I have to finish this," I said.

She sort of had a disappointed slump to her posture.

"So did you find anyone yet?" she asked.

"Not yet. I saw one survivor get bit. Most everyone is staying off the streets though. I can't figure out why that guy would have been out on the street. He must've been desperate or high on something," I said.
