~Chapter 1~

Your Pov

Your birthday was basically right when the school year started. Your best friend, Lily Evans, baked you a (insert favorite flavor here) cake, she also gave you a few presents. Nothing too special.

You were running at top speed dodging muggles. There were so many people; enough to where you weren't concerned about muggles seeing you, they most likely wouldn't anyway. You ran straight through the wall, boarding the train on time. You searched and searched for Lily's compartment. Finally, you found her. She was basically being interrogated by a besotted James Potter and his companion, Sirius Black.

Off in the corner sat Peter Pettigrew. What he was doing, you had no clue.

Off in another corner of the compartment sat Remus Lupin. The sandy-brown-haired boy seemed to always have a book right at hand. The same sandy-brown-haired boy you had a crush on since the first year. Love at first sight, right?

You opened up the compartment door and dragged Lily out.

"Wait Y/N! My stuff!" Lily exclaimed.

"Don't worry, I'll go back for it." You said as you went into another compartment and put your stuff away. You walked back over to the compartment where the Marauders were and opened the door.

"I see you've come back for me," Sirius said with a wink.

"Don't even try, Black. You've got no shot." You replied, grabbing Lily's stuff. Sirius put his hand in front of Lily's trunk and said, "Only for a kiss can you have this." You punched him square in the face.

"In your dreams," You said. "Now Potter, I suggest you move. Unless you want to end up like Black over here." You said, gesturing to Sirius, who was lying on the floor. He didn't hesitate to get out of your way.

"Thank you," You said, grabbing Lily's stuff. "I shall be on my way now. Good day to you all." You stated, saluting the Marauders.

Remus Pov

"Padfoot, why do you hit on every girl you lay eyes on, only to turn around and break their heart?" James asked Sirius.

"Well my friend, you see, they're bound to say yes because of my charm." He replied, dramatically flipping his hair.

"You just got punched in the face by a girl who you 'used your charm on.'" I said, making quotation marks with my fingers.

"Oh hush up Moony; like you could get a girl," Sirius said. I rolled my eyes and went back to reading.

"Hey. Oh, sorry. Am I interrupting something?" I looked up and saw Y/N.

"Well, aren't you looking as beautiful as ever?" Sirius asked, wrapping an arm around her waist. She slapped it away and replied with, "Black, I have a feeling you wanna get punched again." I couldn't help but smile just a little.

Sirius raised his hands in defense. "Okay, okay. You will fall for me one day though, L/N." Y/N rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Anyway, we're almost to Hogwarts. Better change into your robes." She said and walked away.

I marked my place in my book and ran out after her.

"Moony?" James called after me as I left. I ignored him and called after Y/N.

"Hey! Y/N!" She turned around and waited for me to catch up.

"Lupin." She simply replied.

"Hey, I know your birthday was recent," She looked shocked when I said that. "I wanted to give you this." I handed her a small black box. She opened it and I noticed her blush. It was a charm bracelet with the Gryffindor lion on it.

"Thank you, Remus, I really appreciate it." She said as she hugged me.

"Anytime."
