Daryl and Glenn came back before Shane and Rick. I had given up at the window and was in the living room with everyone else, so they took me by surprise.

"Rick and Shane ain't back?" Daryl asked, walking into the room.

"No." Lori answered.

"We heard a shot." Daryl announced.

"Maybe they found Randall." Lori said.

"We found him." Daryl told her.

"Is he back in the shed?" Maggie asked.

"He was a walker." Daryl said.

"Did you find the walker that bit him?" Hershel asked.

"No, the weird thing is he wasn't bit." Glenn said.

"His neck was broke." Daryl added.

"So he fought back." Patricia said.

"The thing is, Shane and Randall's tracks were right in top of each other. And Shane ain't no tracker, so he didn't come up behind him. They were together." Daryl told everyone.

So chances are Shane did kill him.

"Would you please get back out there and find Rick and Shane and find out what on earth is going on?" Lori asked, approaching Daryl.

"You got it." Daryl said.

"Thank you." Lori told him.

Daryl, Glenn, and Andrea walked out onto the front porch. I followed and looked out at the woods. There was a sea of walkers headed for the house. Twice the size of the herd we saw on the interstate and they just kept pouring out of the trees.

"Holy shit." I said quietly.

Hershel came out on the porch.

"Patricia, kill the lights." He said.

"I'll get the guns." Andrea said.

I followed her into the house to get my axes. I checked to make sure my pistol was fully loaded and stuck it in my back pocket. I hurried back out on the porch as Lori came out the door behind me.

"Carl's gone." She announced.

"What?" We asked her.

"He was upstairs. I can't find him anymore." She said, worriedly.

"Maybe he's hiding." Glenn suggested.

"He's supposed to be upstairs. I'm not leaving without my boy."

"We're not." Carol assured her. "We're gonna look again. We're gonna find him."

Andrea came back out with the guns. We all grabbed a shotgun.

"They got numbers. It's no use." Daryl said.

"You can go if you want." Hershel told him.

"You gonna take 'em all on?" Daryl asked Hershel.

"We have guns. We have cars." Hershel answered.

"Kill as many as we can, then we use the cars to lead the rest of them off the farm." Andrea agreed.

"Are you serious?" Daryl asked, shocked.

"This is my farm. I'll die here." Hershel told him.

"All right. It's as good a night as any." Daryl said, looking over at me.
