Smack. Perfect splat.

The truck rear bumper hits into it knocking it like ten feet through the air. Then I gun it forward pulling up under the window.

I also just realized after having a truck, it's too hard to go back to a car when you like this high up off the ground feeling.

"Hurry! Get in!" I yelled.

"Help please!" the girl cried out in panic and tear streaked.

"I have to drive and I'm alone. Climb through the window into the back of the truck fast!" I hissed.

"Got it! I'm coming out!" she cried out.

But then I had to gun it into reverse again. The one I had just hit with the back bumper didn't get killed and has gotten back up and was about to move after me again.

I slammed into him again, this time hard enough to send him another good five feet and get some good bone crunching sound.

I am gunning it forward again, just as the girl is pulling herself through the window.

Crap. A teenager. I can't deal with teenage girls.

She climbs into the back of the truck from the window sill.

"Hold on tight. We have to go!" I said quickly.

At least she's armed. I can make out a golf club.

As the truck lurches forward she yells at me to stop. "Wait! Stop! Wait for the others, please!" she yells.

She meant for other survivors to hurry and get into the truck. I should have caught it, as she's like bent over looking into my cab to make sure I don't leave her friends. It was a bit of a shock having a real nice looking girl hanging there.

"Please let them in too," she pleaded.

"Got it."

But its weird when the first face I see coming through is another boy that looks like her.

"What? You have a brother?" I'm a bit shocked.

"Something like that," she said.

"Who are you anyway? The old lady there didn't have any relatives that I knew about," I growled.

"Yeah I have two boys with me. But one of them is sick," she said.

Before I can say anything else two big teenage boys get in the back of the truck. One jumped in directly but the other sort of flops over the back of the tailgate like a wet fish.

"What up?" one of them nods at me; it's the lively one. He's armed with a baseball bat.

Good, I like bats. I'd prefer if it was me carrying one though.

The other is looking down and his face is ash gray. He doesn't look so good. He had a knife that's covered in guts and I can also see a big bite in his shoulder that is dripping from both blood and black zombie sludge. It's pretty obvious because when it bit him, it tore through the collar and shoulder of his shirt, exposing the wound nicely for everyone to see and its already got a good mixture of black, purple, and red with bruising.

Bruising isn't supposed to look like that and I'm no medical expert.

"That needs serious medical attention," I said trying to get my eyes off it.

"We know, but 911 is down and no police or fire department can be reached. Everyone's gotten violent like overnight," the girl said in near panic hanging onto my right bicep and elbow.

Crap.

Is he turning into one of them?

"Is he going to be OK?" I asked the boy in the back, regarding the one next to him. They don't look like they are all brothers. So I have probably either the brother's friend or sister's friend that is the guy bit in the back.

"Just go. Don't worry about him," the other boy said.

"If I don't worry about him, are you? You have to take responsibility for that," I said.

The other boy said something under his breath and waved me off. Typical kid.

This could get complicated fast.

"Hurry get moving!" the girl said, gesturing to roamers that are heading our direction.

"Hang on tight," I said gritting my teeth.

"Nice wheels," one of them joked referring to my ruined front hood that is all bent up and got rabid guts all over it.

"The windshield wipers work just fine for that," I said as I sped up.

"Hang on," the girl said as I speed up, revving the engine. I'm worried about the guys in the back falling out but I can't slow down. I have to maintain enough speed that stuff can't grab onto us. It's also better to hit them right on with the best speed that I can while in a partial turn to spin them to the left or right, rather than have them go over the top.

"Let me up front," the wounded bitten kid said.

"That's not a good idea," his brother said.

"Wait shouldn't I get the front?" the girl asked.

"What you think you are special?" the kid that looks the most like her said.

"Have the bit kid stay in the back. It could affect my driving having him get fluids on me," I said.

I just realized how glad I am that I'd gotten the feeling back in my legs for the pedals. My muscle strength is pretty much zero though. It also helps that I've adjusted the seat so I'm able to keep my foot on the pedals and still have the heels of my feet hitting the truck floor, so that I don't feel like I'm carrying the weight of my legs.

"Hang tight in the back for a bit. I don't know you guys and you are all armed. Besides, someone needs to keep the sick kid from falling out," I said.

"We're just kids, teenagers," the healthy boy explained.

Duh...I figured that already. Or is he hoping that will get him a free ride and free stuff?

"Yeah can you help us? Please?" the girl asked while hanging on and trying to talk through the back cab window.

Then the other one that was really sick vomited over the side of the truck. That's another reason I didn't want him up front. All of them have hoodies on so I haven't gotten a good look at their features yet. Also there's this weird thing that they all are dressed like they are going camping.

What's going on here?

"Look, no promises. I might be able to help you guys, but it depends on how well you are willing to listen and follow my orders. I don't want any of your crap and I won't put up with any bull shit," I ordered before gunning the truck forward again.

"Duck, and hang on," I said right before running over two more zombies.

So what do I do with the kids? They are the worst thing I could pick up at this time. There are urban legends about how much kids can eat in one day and I'm supposed to be in survival mode.

This could get weird if I finally get my android and she thinks they are mine and that I hid them from her. Or...would she get a bad vibe from the teenage girl being in my house too?
