"I'll come back! Stay alive!" I yelled out the window while I hear the girl inside fighting the zombie that had gotten inside.
Hmm I can't do anything about whatever that thing is inside though. I worry for if she's already dead or worse. I can't just pull up the window with no plan. I have to basically run past in the truck with strong speed and peel the zombies away from the house without taking myself out.
I can't stop.
I did hear more of her screams as she's fighting off whatever is inside. Good she's probably going to live for awhile because the screaming and thrashing around hasn't stopped? I think...
I dodged two more rabids that were coming from down the street from the area I was heading towards while instead I pulled the wheel to turn right and go back the way I'd come from away from them.
It's a tricky driving maneuver to get my speed up and really push on the gas before the zombies can latch on. They are really good at latching on as well and don't shake off easy. It also showed me that two zombies I'd ditched earlier when turning around were about halfway here and they were the first that I was able to run over.
Spluck*
Crunch*
They went under the wheels pretty fast but it feels awful when they hit not just from the sick sounds of liquid and bone crunching but also because of the feeling of something heavy hitting the truck makes me worried about if the truck will hold together. The jarring feeling is almost like when you run over a curb with your car.
I turned and this time went up another cul de sac that's on the street one over which I used to turn around so I could avoid the area I'd used before that had too many earlier to be safe to even get close to being close to.
Crap. That wasn't good. I dodged rabids latching onto the truck but it wasn't good because I've inadvertently drawn more after me. This time I've gotten seven new ones. They weren't all gathered in one spot as they spot me.
Two were in the middle of the street, which I dodged after swining back around. Then the others were scattered throughout several yards, with none of them being in the same yard except for a mother and child rabid pair in a small four plex apartment yard.
I didn't waste any time running over the two that were already in the street but avoided the others. They'd eventually catch up and I'd have time to go over them again, literally. The cul de sac did help me turn around quickly however.
Quickly I gunned the gas and head back over to that street. Unfortunately I'm going to have to stay driving and doing hit and runs for awhile because I have no idea how long it will take for other rabids to be drawn over this way from the girl screaming, from the rabids that got excited chasing the cat, and anything else that's heard or seen the truck.
But theoretically if I keep going back and forth confining myself to the same areas to avoid pulling zombies from new neighborhoods, then I could limit exposure while overcoming freshly attracted rabids and get rid of the roamers to kill their population.
It's the roamers that I'm the most worried about. I have to overcome and do something about them asap. By roamer, I've noticed that there are some that never seem to stop walking, and have crept into this neighborhood that I know don't live on my street.
Sure enough as I swing back over for the next pass the girl is waving like a handkerchief outside the window.
But it's a tricky pass. I had to run over another zombie that was in that same yard, and then gun it in reverse to knock another rabid over that was trying to come from down the side yard driveway.
