Chapter 24:" You are acting like you didn't just quoted One Direction,"

Tears nearly slipped my eyes as I watch James holding two cones of ice cream, and especially because both are chocolate flavor. Let me tell you; nothing is better than an ice cream when you are sad, especially a chocolate one.

"You like ice cream, right? And I hope that you like chocolate because I see you eating chocolate every time at lunch. I am so sorry if you don't like chocolate because I am really bad at comforting girls and I su-"

I cut his incessant rambling of by hugging him tightly, making him emit an 'oomph' sound but I don't care. He is being too nice and right now it's nearly impossible to not hug him.

"You don't know how much you've done for me James, thank you," My voice is barely above a whisper and I, myself, don't know why I am whispering.

"What's going on Susan? Why are you sounding so... hurt?" He tries to find the right word and his voice is hinting confusion. Oh, and he's hugging me back.

It is then I remember that I haven't told James about the whole 'Alex' thing when I went to his house and sorted everything out; well at least I thought that we have sorted everything but alas, he is fudged up in his head.

"I like him James. Well at least used to like him, not anymore. He is fudged up in his head," I speak out my thoughts to which James chuckles at this. Who knew that he would be siding up with rather than his best friend? I certainly didn't.

We break the hug and stand there awkwardly, not knowing what to say after our little 'heart-to-heart' session. If it even counts; which I think it doesn't. Two sentences don't make a heart-to-heart session, and it will take more than two sentences to make Susan Johnson have a heart-to-heart session. It is as hard as it gets.

"So, let me kiss you?"

My eyebrows shoot up in utter surprise as the words roll off James tongue. Oh no he didn't! I can't believe he said that.

"Did you just say what I think you said?" I ask, biting my lip hard to not let any laugh escape but when I see James face about his little 'slip up', I lose control and start to laugh.

He grumbles something under his breath and looks away, his cheeks showing a tinge of red. It only makes me laugh harder. Once the laughing subsides, I just smile at him in amusement.

"What's the big deal?"

"What's the big deal!? You are acting like you didn't just quoted One Direction,"

"I thought all you girls like One Direction,"

"Oh trust me, I definitely do. But it was very strange of you to quote them, especially because many boys make fun of them,"

"Nah, they are kinda nice," He shrugs which makes me gape at him.

"You like 1D, don't you?"

He falls silent, making me chuckle. He is just like a five year toddler; naïve and speaking whatever comes into his mind.

"Whatever, let's just continue our date." He speaks up and grabs my arm before pulling me towards the area of park where there are many things for kids; slides, swings and many more.

"What are you doing?" I ask him once we stop near the slides. But my question is answered when I see his signature smirk making its way onto his face. Oh no! He is going to take revenge because I embarrassed him. Oh shite!

"I am counting till five and run wherever you want, because if I catch you, you'll be kissed,"

A gasp leaves my mouth. "You wouldn't do that, would you?" I know that he will but I just need to confirm so that I can wake my inner Usain Bolt and put him to good use.
