But I was feeling very confused too. If she did it this way with everyone that would be...like crushing to me right now. It was just... so odd that she put herself in as the model. If I'm any kind of decent guy I have to believe there's some kind of meaning to that. And I have to hold off on a buy until I understand this and don't have her or myself disappointed.

Shit, should I just end the call. I didn't feel good. "Let me call you back. I need a minute to...pick something up I dropped," I started to say.

"Jack, really it's not like that. Wait please! Wait Jack! Don't hang up please! Please listen..." she said.

"I only did that for you. I was hoping you'd like me," she said, a bit embarrassed.

"Really?"

"Yes. I never let customers make an android look at me. I can prove it!" she said forcefully.

"Are you sure? You aren't lying?" I asked.

"Here's the proof. All the androids appearances that I've helped get adopted, it doesn't have personal information so worry I'm not doing anything illegal. I'm only sending a visual facial of the android appearances they chose. In it you can see none of them have ever been made to look like me. Please believe me Jack! I'm sorry! Please believe me," she pleaded.

I waited a bit. And then I could see it.

And truthfully she was right. The visual feed didn't show any of them looking like her. Which was a relief. Actually some of these guys made their android girls look like something from a horror film. Some of them are freaky. One of them even had construction nails for jewelry on pierced nipples...

OK, I'm not looking anymore at that. Some of those pics in the feed are too much. There really are freaks out there. And now I know why they screen people who are adopting androids. Some of the twisted minds and what they did to them are...

"Jack?" she finally asked. "Are you there?"

"I'm sorry too. It bothered me the idea of that...and I shouldn't been possessive," I said.

"Actually possessiveness can indicate a protective trait and wanting to move forward positively. It's not bad like some people think or make it out to be. It's just how it's applied," she said.

"Oh, I see..."

"Well let's change this. If I can't afford you...then having the new android look like you might make me feel bad and cause hurt and regret," I said.

"Yeah I can see why you might think that. Its probably best to change it. It could cause heartache if you are reminded of not being together. On both of our ends also. I could end up with hurt this way too," she sighed.

"Sorry Barbara, but I checked the data several times, there's no way I can afford you Ligas. I hope you'll believe me but don't believe I'm not rejecting you or being a screw up," I said.

"I know you aren't a screw up Jack. That's why I liked you from the beginning. Always you had adversity but didn't give in. Although if you did make her look like me, she would be kind of like me if you did emulate me. I should have thought about how that might create confusion though. I was in the wrong. I'm sorry Jack. Gosh, I feel so stupid and like a human," she said hopefully. It seemed like a young person almost as if she was asking someone out hopefully...

I considered it.

"Hmm well it's not a bad idea," I said.

"Wait! I have a request Jack!" she said suddenly, and very excited.

"OK? I'll listen but... it depends."

"Actually, I feel renewed from this. Energized. And happy now. We had talked about it possibly causing hurt to you if you made her look like me. But instead, I realized I want this! I want her to look like me! This is my gift to you Jack. And it'll be OK Jack."
